This is my first attempt at making amigurumi. It's a mish mash of patterns and some pieces I just made up as I went.
It was a lot of fun and I was shocked how fast they worked up.

Walnut

Peanut

Their far from perfect but my boys love them  Grin
I'm already working on some bunnies for my niece's birthdays coming up

Thanks for looking!!!

4  It's hat time again!!! in Crochet: Completed Projects by ladypie on: September 19, 2011 08:00:37 AM
School has started and the weather is getting colder!! So I made some hats for my boys! I made them hats last year as well and I've decided that I'll be making them hats every winter until their old enough to be completely embarassed about LOL ( which of course I hope never happens )
They picked out the colors themselves and luckily for me I'm ok with the fact that they dont make their jackets LOL

I found a really easy pattern online for the hat another for the ear flaps and winged the ears.
And if anyone can direct me to an easy mitten pattern I would be so so happy!!! I cant seem to find any that make any sense to me LOL and I would love to be able to make them a full set!!
Thanks for looking everyone!

5  I finally had the guts to do it!!! in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by ladypie on: July 28, 2011 07:24:05 PM
So I've seen this on a million blogs and always thought to myself, man I'd love a chalkboard fridge  Grin So I did it!!!! I love it and I've got to young boys that are going to be so excited in the morning!!! They were begging me all day to color on it but I had to wait for it to cure for the 24 hrs LOL

I also spray painted the handles and the bottom guard thingy cause they looked crappy LOL

6  More Paper Mache muahahahhaaa in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by ladypie on: June 20, 2011 08:14:55 AM
I totally forgot to take progress pics Embarrassed BUT maybe next time I'll remember LOL I used a glass skull I have as a base and removed the first couple of layers of mache to have a hollow skull. It's actually a great technique, you cover your item with just wet newspaper for a layer or two and then add a couple of layers with your glue. Once it's dry cut it off and tape back together.
All the details on the horns, teeth and middle of the skull are hot glue, and I avoided trying to get the skull too smooth because that wasn't the look I was going for.

I'm in the middle of making a sugar skull design for another so once that's done hopefully I'll have a few in progress shots to add.
C&C always welcome  Grin

7  Great Minds Think Alike ANOTHER Golden Gnome :) in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ladypie on: May 15, 2011 07:44:46 AM
So a few weeks ago I found an ugly pastel Gnome at Value Village for $3 and instantly thought "Oh A Golden Gnome would be awesome!"
So I took him home and painted him up.....only to see at least 3 other posts on here, where others made golden gnomes!!! Great minds think alike!!
So here's mine!!
I forgot to to take before pics but here's the awesome results!

Oh and if someone wants to let me in on how the golden gnomes are connected to Farmville that would be awesome....I stopped playing months ago cause it was becoming too time consuming LOL

8  Vintage Hooks!! IMAGE HEAVY!!!! in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by ladypie on: May 12, 2011 09:12:51 PM
I bought these for $0.70 each @ Homesense!!!! Unfortunately they are ugly, hence the price LOL and I just couldn't pass them up! I figured eventually I'd find a good use for them!

Fast forward 3 months, after sitting in my basement, I got some inspiration!! and ALOT of sanding and re-sanding and painting and re-painting.....mostly because my ideas kept changing LOL

These two are just a couple of pictures I loved Smiley modge podged coat hooks at the front door for my boys

And I love love these ones, now that I got my idea straight LOL. These are for my bathroom Smiley I primed and painted and sanded them, and printed the words off on my ink jet printer and ironed them on....tricky and can be melty but I like the result.
The first couple are the closest to the true color.

I hope you like them!

C&C always Welcome!!!

9  Girl's bedding in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by ladypie on: March 21, 2011 07:18:03 AM
I made this bedding set for my niece's birthday. It's not really baby themed for her nursery but I wanted her to be able to grow with it. I had alot of bumps while making it and picking it out because I couldn't find anything wider than 43" which didn't give me much room for sewing let alone error  Tongue But all in all I pretty happy with how it turned out. I kinda winged it, but I learned some handy things to do for then next time I have make anything like this.
I made a pillowcase, duvet cover and a stuffed pillow with the extra I had left over.

thanks for looking  Grin
