1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Removing iron on rhinestones? on: February 16, 2010 05:38:36 AM
I made a cute apron last night but ruined it by putting iron rhinestone letters on it. Any one with advice on removing them cleanly?
2  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Spooky fireplace on: October 26, 2009 01:32:56 PM
My house is still going through some construction and so when we were preparing for our halloween party this weekend I was really annoyed because my fireplace is still tore up with the tile removed.

so last minute I painted this scene using brown paper I had in a large roll from painting furniture outside

I think this is kinda cute, even if your fireplace isn't torn up, I didnt have much time so the quality of my painting is pretty sad but everyone got a kick out of it.
3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Machine problem on: May 13, 2009 04:39:32 PM
Ok see, I am working on a project I wanted to have done by the 23rd its a craftapple car organizer I wanted to modify for beach use in time for my vacay in florida and the needle and holder fell out, along with this small piece to the side of it, at first I though the needle just fell out but I was wrong, I am pouring over the manual I downloaded from the internet its a brother xl-5130.

I have never experienced this one before and not sure

has this happened to anyone else? In the past when I have had issues my mom was there to tell me whats up but Im on my own on this one unless I take it to someone to find out

5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Altoid tins on: November 26, 2008 04:46:10 PM
ok I'm making an altered tin and I'm half way through. But now my tim won't close! So do you guys alter the parts that come in contact with the other half in closing? Does that make sence?
6  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Glass Etching Questions on: November 12, 2008 05:33:20 AM
Ive done some glass etching with pre made designed stuff from michaels - its like a rub on blue

but I want to make my own designs

what do you guys use when making your own designs? and where do you find it?

The lady at Michaels suggests I use wide masking tape but its really not as wide as I need, I guess I could use multiple lines but it just seems like a pain in the booty.
7  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Cobra Commander - GI Joe on: November 02, 2008 03:30:15 PM
I made my boyfriend a cobra commander costume:

Next to him is our friend Omar

The inspiration:

So I bought a blue track suit from academy and painted the cobra commander logo with acrylic paint, lol couldn't be bothered to buy fabric paint which would have been a lot better but oh well it turned out ok. I bought matching blue fabric to make the mask from walmart, thankfully when they remake the GI Joe movie they are redesigning his mask...

I also bought white chord from walmart to make the top look like a general suit more instead of a track suit

we had the bb guns, and a gun holster, I re purposed some camping gear for the straps on his legs and he also had black leather gloves which didnt make it into the picture, it was a very HOT Halloween costume so he took pieces off pretty quick!
