22  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sewing Isn't Just for Grandmas and Mommies!! (a young crafter rant) on: July 30, 2009 12:23:55 PM
oh wow the horror!

I live in Houston, I see a lot of craftiness around town at all ages. We even have a sewing lounge that was opened by some fairly young looking girls that teach sewing and other crafts, have yet to check it out in person though, I don't live real close to the place.

You see on TV some more younger generations too, I dont consistently watch Project Runway but there are younger people on that show that make amazing outfits, and I do believe one of them has a shop down here in Houston too, was it Chloe Doa? sorry I dont consistently watch a lot of tv programs, so Im probably sounding very out of touch here...  Huh

I guess Im lucky Ive met some amazing older women that are more than happy to see a young face in their store or help out when you hit a snag, too bad they cant all be like that

hey all checking in, I had family come in from out of town but they are gone now so my crafting can resume this weekend, after the rod stewart concert.  Roll Eyes

yeah Im a native texan too - I was born in Lampasas, but have also lived in Oklahoma and New Mexico (but have spent most of my time in Houston, maybe that's why), but whatever you call em they suck  Sad

hmmm Im from Texas & Oklahoma - Ive always heard them referred to as chiggers too. but yeah those suck big time! and I know you said mosquitoes weren't the culprit but we have them thick down here in Houston which is why we camp during winter, no bugs thank you! lol well we actually camp on the beach occasionally during the summer and it gets bad at night too tho  Smiley

Im almost done with my big part just two little steps left but I am a bit nervous because I'm making something without directions or past experience lol so I need to finish and test it asap in case of a glitch.

yeah I need to get on more at night and on weekends but why go to the computer when there are crafts to be done!?!? lol Ill keep up with you guys tho I promise!
