lol, a pirate saying "Yaaarrrn" is too funny.  ive been trying to come up with one all night at work, but i failed Sad

on another note...so i taught myself to knit on sunday-ish.  ive been trying to learn for a few weeks now, but on sat i got a swap package in the mini-make a friend swap, and she sent me knitting supplies and a book, and i dunno if the book just explained it so it made sense or what, but everything just seeme to click at once "ohhh this is how you knit. i get it now!" haha.  anyway.  so i have a question. how do you keep track of rows and stitches? like im trying to make a ear warmer headband thingy.  and i dunno why, but for some reason i got "knit one purl two" in my head, so i thought "ok, i'll do that" ...so i've been knitting one row and purling too, repeat.  but im afraid that im going to put it down and forget what the next row is suppose to be.  ya know what i mean? so i was wondering how all you fiber fanatics keep track (well, the knitter fiber fanatics, i guess, hehe) or maybe this is something i'll just learn eventually?

Finals are done, new class starts today and my awesome husband showed up yesterday with the yarn i need for this swap, he is the best. Grin I should be able to have the second item done by the end of the week and then one more thing but I'mm probably throw in a few extras because I love extras and don't want to send too early.

ahhh, now i feel pressure lol.

I received from mljohnston on .... saturday, i think. sorry for taking so long to post! but i have been busy teaching myself to knit!! hehe.

first up...awesome yarn (there is one missing, but you will see it later...)

i think i love the denim the most, but they are all very "me"

next, an awesome book on knitting that she learned from (which has def helped me out a lot already!)

a neckwarmer that she knit for me :-D,  it i's sooo soft

Michigan-y stuff (i think if anyone saw me with those pencils i would get shot....seriously...  Wink )

AND finally...

she also sent me some knitting needles...which i have already put to good use.

you have no idea how excited i am! i know it's not the best, but it's the best knitting i've ever done! until yesterday all i could do is cast on, and now look at me :-D hehe.

anyway...thank you so much! i love everything, obviously!

im thinking this might make an awesome tissue box cover.  like use plastic canvas for the box part? or maybe the flower would make it too top heavy? hmm..something to consider, lol. ive been trying to come up with nintendo themed crafts for my mom's "Wii Room" this might make it in there!

omg! i wish i would have made the penguin/red wings pittsburgh/detriot connection!! that would have been too funny.   i almost got something penguins instead of Steelers, but it would have just been a total coincidence.
Strawberry Lemonade cupcakes sound amazing! mmmm
