1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Easter / Vegan Easter Baskets on: April 15, 2009 05:41:10 PM
Just cuz I wanted some festoonery at the family dinner table...
I painted some wooden eggs, and nestled them in origami baskets.  I wanted to get all crafty-Faberge with the 3-D eggs, but there were only 2 left at Michael's, so the other 3 are the less fun plywood kind.  The baskets were made by my fiance, FoldSomething, and he has an instructional video for them: http://foldsomething.com/origami-videos/functional-origami/basket-flower-pot/
The 'grass' is strips of catalog pages.

This one is my favorite-- I've had matryoshkas on the brain lately, so I made a sort of egg-baby in that style.  Interesting note: the Korean word for baby is "eggy".

Lilac with silver spraypaint spots

Ironic feather decorations

Shiny orangey goldy

Where do bumblebees come from?

All my eggies in a row.  Awww!

Holy moly... Well, you blew my t-shirt dresses out of the water.  http://analoguechic.com/2009/01/15/window-dressing-a-series/
Of course, yours is definitely more wearable-- I could see that at a gallery opening or a cocktail party.  I bow to you.

Wow, I love all of these designs, the color choices, the buttons, really awesome!  I would agree with urbanchic1212, though, some of your seams look kind of bulky, and on the piecing some of the corners don't match.  I don't know what kind of fabric you used, but those are a couple of things to take another look at.  Good luck with the competition!

Holy crap, that is so cute, you did a great job on the fitting.  You absolutely must wear it out so the world can revel in your creativity and cuteness!
