21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Anything Amigurumi Swap II (sendouts 7/4) on: June 15, 2009 07:36:21 AM
i had boxes of randomness everywhere and i was really sick of looking at them, so i decided i was going to be productive this weekend.  i know i am missing some craft stuff somewhere, but i think my BF may have put some boxes in the garage i haven't found yet.  i have discovered that buttons, and beads and such look marvelous in interesting glass jars.  and now i know how much yarn i have been accumulating over the years.  apparently i'm not allowed to buy anymore yarn because i have the rainbow covered haha.
my craft area is slowly consuming more and more of the "man-cove" which apparently is a no-no  Tongue

both of the patterns i have made came out way bigger than imagined, and i even cut back on the size of my hook by 1.5 mm.  so a couple of my ami's are big.  i have gave back into my amazon addiction and ordered a couple ami books from there.  they came in last week.  so guess what i've been doing?  my BF keeps saying, are you sending all those to the UK? haha.  i'm just making a whole bunch and then we'll decided which guys to send to my partner.

but on a side note, i did finally get my craft area set up this weekend (after having moved almost 2 months ago  Undecided

i think i was too excited about this swap because i had one project almost complete before signup was done (this has made my partner nervous haha).  i have some excellent ideas for her and i am finding it hard to part with them. my dog has taking a liking to one of them (she was found sleeping with it) so i hope goldsheepbowl isn't allergic to dogs Sad
i can't wait to see the finished projects from everyone

hookers unite Smiley
24  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Grilled Melons!!! on: June 10, 2009 01:38:54 PM
one of my friends introduced me to it and i was reluctant to even try it.  but i'm sure glad i did, it was heavenly.  the more sour cream the better (about 2-3 tbsp just about fills up the inside of the peach)

I've never done peaches on the BBQ but I have done them in the oven.  (this sounds gross but trust me it is delicious)
Cut the peach in half and take the pit out, then pack the inside of it with sour cream and put the 2 halves together.  you could wrap it in tin foil and do it on the BBQ.  I don't know why but sour cream tastes pretty darn good with peaches Smiley  give it a try and let me know what you think.

I can't even use patterns. It's not that I don't know how to read them or anything, I just always want to tweak something or do something different. Most of the time I just read a pattern to see how something is done, then do something similar.

I bought the creepy cute crochet book before I realized my inability to follow a pattern, too. If I get partnered up with someone who wants the book, you can have it. Smiley

I can totally relate, lusty butterflies taught me how to read the book Cheesy what a nice sista!

ya i'm awesome  Tongue i improvised on a lot of the patterns, i believe it was the head.  i don't like how she had some of her patterns, wing it, as long as you have the same amount of stitches in each circle it shouldn't matter.  i don't finish off each row with a slitch stitch, i work continually in the round, but to each their own.

who ever gets autumnkisses as a swap partner, you're gonna luv it, she's amazing Smiley
