1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Stripwork toddler top on: February 14, 2009 04:08:40 PM
I made this top for my daughter from a pattern on YCMT for a stripwork jumper.  I made it shorter to use as a top.  The fabric is from Wal-Mart!  I loved the color combinations.   Any comments would be appreciated.

2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Peasant Top and Cuffed pants-YCMT patterns on: February 12, 2009 06:54:58 AM
This is a top and pants that I made for my 13 month old daughter from patterns I purchased on youcanmakethis.com  (Portrait Peasant Top and Easy Fit Pants).  I LOVE these patterns.  Very easy and versatile.  There are lots of options for making them different lengths, styles, etc.  The fabric I used was given to my by my cousin...lightweigh t denim for the pants and cotton print for the top and cuffs.

Here are some pics I took this morning of my DD wearing the dress I posted the other day.

4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Self Drafted "Hanna" dress and Toddler Sleeveless Top on: February 01, 2009 04:54:57 PM
Here are two of my latest creations for my 13 month old (wearing 18 mo clothes) DD.  The first is my take on the "Hanna A" play dress.  I measured a dress of hers and came up with my own pattern.  I think it turned out pretty good-also only my 2nd time working with knit fabric!  The second piece is a tank top, also worn with long sleeves underneath.  It is from this tutorial:  http://www.jcarolinecreative.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=JC&Screen=CHILDTOP.  I had made one before and this time elongated the bodice a bit to fit my tall daughter.  Any comments would be appreciated! :-)  Click on the pics to see them bigger.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / How do you store your patterns? on: January 29, 2009 04:50:09 PM
I have printed off a TON of tutorials, patterns from online and now have the dilemma of how to store them....instruction sheets and pattern pieces.  Does anyone have a solution to this?
6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Need help finding a pattern on: January 26, 2009 08:16:27 AM
I am looking for a pattern for my daughter (wearing size 18 months) that is similar to Hanna Andersson's play dress seen here:  http://www.hannaandersson.com/style.asp?from=SC|1|2|24|25|1||&simg=29638_Y08 either with long or short sleeves.  I have been looking and looking and haven't found anything!  I don't want a zipper closure, I would like it to be sized for stretch knits.  Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!  Thank you!!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Lining a hooded jacket on: January 18, 2009 09:49:47 PM
I have a cute vintage Simplicity pattern that I am going to begin working on for my 1 yr old DD.  The hooded jacket that the pattern includes does not have a lining, but I would like to give it one.  Does anyone know of a good tutorial/website/other simple instructions for lining a jacket?  Thanks!!
8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / First Birthday dress on: December 12, 2008 02:00:51 PM
Here is the dress I made for my daughter's first birthday (next Sunday).  It is baby cord with embroidered snowflakes/sequin centers.  The pattern was Simplicity 3656 and it will have a white pinafore.

9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Felt Party Hat for 1st Birthday? on: November 20, 2008 09:41:00 AM
Does anyone know of a tutorial/pattern/technique for making a felt party hat?  I would like to make some for my daughter's first birthday party.  It seems simple enough, but I am one who likes to follow someone else's directions!  If anyone can help, I would appreciate it!  Thanks!!
10  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Toddler Top-Baby Cord and Brown Floral on: November 17, 2008 11:52:42 AM
Here is a top I made for my daughter-excuse the misshapen look-of course I forgot to take pics until after she wore it.  The top is brown baby cord and the bottom and facing are a brown floral print I got at Joann's.  It is made from this tutorial:  http://www.jcarolinecreative.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=JC&Screen=CHILDTOP  I subbed light blue snaps for the buttons that are supposed to be on the back.  I am currently terrified of buttonholes.  I am hoping to overcome it someday, but right now, snaps are easier!

Here are some pics:
