1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / chirp chirp ! MY LARGE ANIME CHICKADEE PROJECT on: September 21, 2009 08:51:05 PM
Update:: Here I decided to dress them up too...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just love baby chicks!!!
Here I've designed three chickadee "Butterfly" and her siblings "Bump" and "Flop"

Butterfly here has two humps instead of one and I've given them different bodies just to vary the design a bit.
Unlike the other two, Butterfly loves to get all dolled up as you can see and she insists that she carries her big bright pink mirror around her neck to make sure she's well presented at all times! lol

Thank you for stopping by, hope you enjoy my little chickadees! Cheesy
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / a kimono for my Mineko! on: August 28, 2009 11:08:48 PM
I've been so excited about Mineko and Puchi for the past two weeks and have been so eager to bring them to life!!! I couldn't stand not having them completed any longer and last night, I burnt the midnight oil so that I will have great light this morning to take lots of photos of them before the forecasted storm clouds up my windows.
Am delighted to introduce to my new little girl "Mineko" and "Puchi"!!!

Mineko is approximately 26cm/10.5 inches tall and is created from quality Shulte sparse mohair with a fawn colour pile on strong backing. She is 5 way jointed using cotter pin joints and have large black German glass eyes. I've given her a little dark brown embroidered nose and lightly shaded her rosy cheeks in pink.

Mineko is a weighty medium size bear, filled with polyflock stuffing and her feet also contains stainless steel shots to help her stand on her own. With a little initial help, she'll be able to stand very comfortably so that she can show off her pretty yukata (summer kimono) I'd especially designed and made for her.

I've made Mineko's yukata from really cute Japanese fabric. It is fully lined and just like patchwork, I'd hand stitched all the panels together. I wanted to make this yukata to be removable along with the Obi (belt) so that this new bear can play dress up!! Cheesy

I also made Mineko a little puppy of her own...Puchi is 10cm/4 inches tall and has a lovely brown colour coat. Her feet and tummy contains stainless steel shots to give her weight so she won't topple over when playing with Mineko! They are an inseparable pair just like my Walter and me!

Thank you for stopping by and hope you enjoy seeing my Mineko and Puchi! Cheesy
Have a fab day!!
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / anime bear hug anyone?!! :D on: August 06, 2009 06:48:51 AM
I've been meaning to post this for a while but forgotten about it until now....

Do you still remember the feeling you get right after you hit "send" to submit an assignment or walking out of the exam room just after you finished? well, I'm having one of those feel good moments right now! lol
I don't believe I've worked so hard since graduating...well at least not consistently for 4 weeks straight! My fingers are so sore but I'm so happy to finish my custom order of anime bears and am delighted with how they've turned out! Yeah!!!! Here's a snippet of my 18 anime bears and bunnies and oh there's a kitty too!! They've been so good this morning, sitting so nicely like a group of very well behaved school kids taking their school photos! lol
Time to clean up my desk and start on a new bear.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by!
Hope this group of happy bearies make you smile  Smiley
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / she's a teddy bear? on: July 14, 2009 04:32:31 AM
Please meet "MOMOKO" and her little "PRINCESS"!

I've been dreaming of creating this pair for a while.  I thought Momoko should have a warm hat too and she loves it! It keeps her real warm especially with the cold windy and raining days we've been having in Melbourne! Princess is Momoko's little anime pet and she follows Momoko wherever she goes.

This is a revamp of an older pattern I made a few years back, sometimes, I have a bear in mind but it takes a few changes before I finally get it just the way I hoped.   Think I'm going to leave this pattern alone now...some people say she's not looking much like a bear...but she's my little girly teddy bear! Cheesy

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time time look at my creation, hope her big freckle face makes you smile Cheesy

Beary Hugs,
Jenny
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Playing dress up on a raining day! :D on: July 05, 2009 11:54:48 PM

It's been raining all week and I've been staying indoors to keep warm and dry....so I sit by my window and make my little bear...I've just finished this little girl and took a picture of her looking out the window like I do..waiting for the rain to subside.

This picture really depicts my mood the rain and cold has brought...it was enjoyable for the first few days but this weather is starting to get me down...it wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't soooooo cold!!! brrrrrrrr

Since we've been cooped up inside due to the rain and cold, Claudine and I decided to play dress up! Claudine automatically decided to be a ballerina/fairy/angel! I even got out my Christmas lights and hung them along the window seal, it was a lot of fun despite the rain pouring down the windows, in fact, it was a lovely site and certainly picked up our moods! Cheesy

Thank you for stopping by and I hope Claudine and I helps to pink you up too if it's been raining where you are! Cheesy
6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Stinky Le Skunk on: July 01, 2009 08:36:26 PM
Hello Craftsters!!
It's been a while since I've logged in here and am glad to be back.
It's been a while also since I last created any new animals and I'm thrilled to show off my "Stinky le Skunk" to you Cheesy

Stinky is approx 20cm/8inches tall when standing...yes he can stand!! His feet contains stainless still shots to allow him to stand comfortably and I've placed pipe cleaners in his tail so that you can bend it up or down.

Thank you for stopping by to look at my little stinker! lol
7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / PEANUT anyone? on: April 21, 2009 06:54:12 AM
Hi There Craftsters!

It's been absolutely ages since I last designed a pattern.
Here is my new elephant PEANUT!
For some reason, I can't help associating elephants and nuts...do they actually like to eat peanuts???
For an elephant, he's a skinny fella at approximately 24cm/9.5inches tall and to keep him nice and snug, I've knitted him a big beanie and thick warm scarf.

Here's a side profile

Here's without his hat! Cheesy

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My new post bag on: March 14, 2009 10:40:56 PM
I've been carrying a large recycle shopper bag to go on my postal run three times a week for the past 3 years and last week, it finally gave way and I discovered a hole in one corner. It was time for a new bag and decided I will make my own...here is the result! My first bag I made, now I can walk to the post office with a little bit more style! lol

What do you guys think?
9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Three little puppies and a big one too! on: February 25, 2009 05:15:18 PM
Hi Craftsters!!

When hubby and I went to adopt our puppy Walter, there were three beautiful King Charles Cavalier x Pug in the pen. There was Walter and his two siblings. Given Walter's size as a pup, we could tell he took most of his mother's milk and the way he trampled over his sisters so that I would pat him instead, he was definitely the dominant one! His dominance was a problem when we brought him home as he was constantly trying to establish himself second (after hubby) in the hierarchy. It took puppy pre-school and lots of loving and gentle training before he realized that we're all equals! tee hee
We should have seen the signs but non of this occurred to me at the time...he had me at "whoof"! lol

I had to post this photo of Walter. He often sits by me when I take photos of my new bears but today he plonked himself next to the cavaliers and curled up comfortably while I was snapping away. Though he does enjoy the company of people more than dogs, I wonder if he miss being part of a pack.

This set of cavaliers represent the beautiful puppies I created, hope I do them justice!
Please meet my little litter of King Charles Cavaliers...from left to right "PUCCI", "HERMIONE' and "EDWARD"

I've heard children and animals are the most difficult to take photos of...

here's take two! lol

Thank you for stopping by and have a beautiful day! Cheesy
10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / PART TIME CUPID!! on: February 03, 2009 08:52:59 PM
Hi everyone!

Each year I try create a Valentine bear but this year, I decide that it will be a cupid instead...
Cupid puts on his wings come every 14th of Feb, taking much pleasure and of course lots of fun firing his arrows at passers by. Even better still he has a good excuse to do so...just because it's VALENTINE'S day!! Cheesy

Cupid is looking a little sad in this photo because this year, he has to sit Valentine's day out since he has lost his bow. With the excitement of the coming Valentine's day, he took out his bow and arrows early to play with them. Now he doesn't remember where he has misplaced it and won't be able to pierce lovers hearts with his love arrows.

He'll just have to leave it to fate and hope that we'll pluck enough courage to tell that special someone how much we care about them.
He's still rummaging through his toy box...there still hope yet for Cupid to appear! Cheesy

Here's a little more about CUPID ::
He is created from one of my very early designs and is approximately 23cm/9 inches tall. Cupid is 5 way jointed assembled using a combination of cotter pin joints and wobbly joints giving him a wobbly head, wobbly legs which just dangles when he's being held and cuddled. Cupid wears brilliant white short dense mohair and has a tiny pink embroidered nose and black German glass eyes. He wears a pair of beautiful angle wings on his back strapped on by a ribbon and held together by a pretty diamante buckle which can be removed when he is not on CUPID duty! He has big rosy cheeks...a sign of his cheekiness!! lol

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy reading about my part time cupid!
Happy Valentine's day everyone! Cheesy
