the day this photograph was taken, there was so much fog on the appalachian mountains that it looked like water.

Here's a self-portrait I did tonight. I just smeared some paint on my face, set up a backdrop of some teal fabric, and used my desk lamp as my main source of light. Hope you guys enjoy!

Hey everyone! I'm a technical photography major, and I'm currently taking a studio photography class. Here's a shot I took in my most recent photo shoot. I was inspired by Alice in Wonderland!

4  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / giant squid! on: November 01, 2008 02:40:42 PM
so i wasn't even planning on doing anything for halloween, but my friend convinced me, so i made a squid costume! i think it turned out pretty good considering the fabric i ordered didn't come on time so i had to dye it with kool-aid!

all laid out

i'm really proud of the tentacles...

they were over 3 feet long so i added buttons so i could make them smaller

and action shot! see those wiggling tentacles?!

i added elastic to the tentacles so they would stay on my arms, and i put cardboard pieces in the head part so that it wouldn't be floppy. there's also white felt dots added to every tentacle on the skirt. and i wore black leggings to look like ink  Wink
i hope you all enjoy my costume and have a great halloween!

5  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Chicago internship opportunity on: October 19, 2008 07:02:37 PM
hello all! i'm not sure if this should actually go here since it's not technically for a charity or social cause, so kittykill, if this isn't supposed to be here, please move it! anyway, i have the opportunity to go to chicago for an internship through university of dreams http://www.chicagointernships.com/. the only problem is... it costs $7,500 to go. this is money that i do not have. i want to raise the money instead of doing financial aid because the deadline for financial aid is october 31, and raising the money will save a lot of headache in the future. i was just wondering if anyone else has had to raise money for something similar and what they did to achieve their goal. i would like to have some sort of sale of crafts, but the crafts would have to be somewhat easy to make, or at least a fast process to mass produce them. i also thought of selling some of my own items that are one of a kind, but i'm really not sure if anyone would want them. any ideas are highly appreciated and thank you all so much for your input!
