21  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Wonky the noble steed. EDIT: now Princess Isi! on: July 17, 2006 07:14:01 PM
I was home sick today with shingles (cursed thing) and had to keep my mind off the itching. I thought this would be a quick project but it took me a lot longer than I thought it would because of the details (and the fact that my needle broke about halfway through). It's the fairy tales at your fingertips- Noble Steed from crochetme. http://www.crochetme.com/Aug_Sept_2005/patt_finger_puppets.html
I have named him wonky beacuse many parts of him came out rather wonky. His eyes are different and one of his ears is only halfway in. Also I had to adjust the pattern a little because the yarn I was using was too thick. My mom loves him though Smiley

and this is wonky fighting off my dragon, norbert

My next project is the damsel Smiley

EDIT:
Here's the damsel!

I have named her Isi after the princess in The Goose Girl (best book) because the bright blond hair reminded me of her. This one took me about 3 hours from start to finish. I absolutely adore her and I love whoever invented this pattern! my 7 year cousin is getting one for her b-day Grin
22  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Crocheted candle on: June 12, 2006 08:18:58 PM
For my little sister's friend's (she the little sister I never wanted) bat mitzvah I made a memory candle(a glass bottle-normally wine- with bits of things in or around it that are memories and has a thick candle stuck on top). She always jokes that I'm a grandma cause I crochet so I thought it'd be funny to make her a memory candle with a crocheted candle

The string hanging down is meant to be wax and the weird irregularities and bumps on the candle was also supposed to be wax dripping down the candle.
23  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Anarchy rules the world on: June 12, 2006 07:41:27 PM
I have made the anarchy Hat! yay! This was the first thing I finished from the book (that I got from my loving parents for my 16th b-day. My dad saw the title and was like "i  won't ask" lol). It was a present for my bro's 23rd b-day. Here's him thinking he's a sex god:

It's made with Caron Perfect Match
The last pic is it on me. FOr some reason the hat came out really big (but fit my brother's head great). I'm so happy with how the A came out cause I was soo afraid about messing it up. My brother always called me such a dork for crocheting and when he opened this he was like "this is soooo awesome!" lol

24  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Pineapple pattern help! on: June 06, 2006 07:53:10 PM
I'm making a skirt and would love to have a pineapple type pattern at the bottom. Every pattern I find seems to be for doilies or something. How can I make the pineapple pattern in a straight pattern? Is that even possible? I don't know, I'm very confused. Can someone helP/
25  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / crochet furniture on: May 18, 2006 02:37:59 PM
Recently I realized how much space i have in my room since my sis moved out. I want more furniture and I got a really odd idea. What about making crocheted furniture. Like a really comfy armchair that sat low and the back wasn't too high. Or an ottoman. I mean,I see people make cat beds and sofas. It would take ALOT of yarn and stuffing and time but I think it would be really cool. Any ideas on this?
26  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Ipod nano cosies! on: March 05, 2006 07:18:47 AM
I just got an ipod nano and I just had to make it a cozie. Even though it's small it took me an hour to make becaue I had to figure out how to go around the circle and the screen. There's a flap that goes from the front to the back that leaves room for the headphones plug.

thanks for looking

EDIT: I made another one! This one has no flap but stays on better than the green (though I still like the green better) It only took me 20min to half an hour. Sorry about the weird lighting in the pics. I took this in front of my window and its sunny.

27  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Grandmas rock on: March 05, 2006 06:36:57 AM
My grandma just visited from England. She's very big on knitting and crocheting but hasn't done anything in a while because it hurts her hands. I showed her all my various crocheted stuff and she started a crocheted headband for herself! What's funny is that she didn't know what a granny square was. Grin She gave me a huge thing of yarn and a bunch of beading stuff. Grandmas rock.
28  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / FINALLY!!! (hat, shrug snowflake thing, and doll) on: January 18, 2006 01:52:08 PM
I finally got a digital camera! yay! I've got to go take more pictures of junk but first here are a few things I've made.

a pink meshy hat I made with no pattern (2nd hat I ever made. The first one my cousin stole cause she liked it so much! lol)

and secondly...

The Giant Versatile Snowflake from www.crochetme.com . As you can see a very small part of the last row was not completed( I ran out of white with very little left to go Sad

Please ignore my chubbiness in this pic. On crochetme it shows hat you can close the snowflake to make a shrug thing. But I have big boobs so that didn't really work out. It's more of a vest thing for me

and finally my pride and joy Violet Rayne Bow (yup I named her)

Isn't she prettyful? I got the inspiration from a knit doll I saw on here that came with all these cute outfits.

... and her in more pretty outfits. The green tank top is my fave but unfortunately the strap broke Sad I lvoe her rainbow poncho! Grin
Soon after seeing me start this doll my 11 yr old sister took a very short scarf she had made in this odd fuzzy green and somehow turned it into a doll. Part of the scarf acts as a cape. he has a bright green mask and underwear. So cute! she calls him ASPARAGUS BOY! When I can I'll get pics up of him

THANKS FOR LOOKING!
29  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Yarn spider-web door on: October 16, 2005 02:40:49 PM
I was looking at craftster and saw something about ribbon. Which reminded me of something I've seen on HGTV. They had taken chenille yarn and put pins in the wall. They twisted the yarn around the pins in like spidery ways and used it to hold pictures. I've done a small version of this before. This time I took push pins and put them where the points of a M are in the middle of the top half of my door.(M is the first letter of my name) I then did the same thing with an S(the first letter of my sister's name who I share a room with). in the middle of the lower half. I wrapped the yarn around the push pins to make the letters. I then put a few push pins randomly around the door and wrapped the yarn around them in a spidery fashion. I love it because it covers up some of the yucky stains on my white door and makes it look more interseting. I'm debating whether or not to put pictures in the yarn but I think I'll leave it as is. I have pics I took on my phone of the door but i don't have the thing to put the pics on the comp. So later I'm gonna see if I can borrow my dad's digi and take pics (This is unlikely to happen but i'll try)

EDIT:
I finally got a digi cam so now I can put pics up!

the only problem now is that my sis is getting her own room  Roll Eyes
30  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / DORMANT: Anthropologie camisole on: October 08, 2005 05:31:53 PM
So I found this on their website and I love it! I pretty much get the idea and the design but i can't understand how it all fits together. Is it crocheted seperately and the all the smaller pieces are put together or is it one big piece that just branches off into smaller pieces. I thought it be cool to do as a crochetalong. I'm gonna go work on it now and post and when i figure something out.
