This is my daughter's costume, which I was thrilled with!  I was trying to decide between her being a chicken or Little Red Riding Hood, and I was so glad I went with Little Red when all was said and done.

I found the fabric for the dress, and that is what finally swayed me away from the chicken.  I used a pattern to sew that (no idea which one), and then figured out the pinafore and apron without one.  I started to use a tute for the cape, but I realized fairly quickly that I wanted a hood that she could actually wear, instead of one just for decoration.  So I grabbed a hoodie off the coat rack, looked at the hood, improvised, and got it right on the first try!

Oh, and the two years in the making part?  Well, I thought her little pigtails made the outfit, and we have been working for 25 months to get BARELY enough to pull up into two TINY pigtails, lol!

This is really the first time I've sewn without a pattern, and I was so inspired with the results!  I can't wait to start more projects now!
