11  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Dotee Swap #13 Sign up 10/20 - 10/31 Send out 11/30 on: October 30, 2012 03:19:38 PM
I've just joined up Cheesy I'm really glad to be doing this swap again - they are a lot of fun to make and always lovely to look at. It is amazing how creative people get! I actually keep my dotees on my clothes hangers - not necessarily the safest place for them but they always give me a smile when I stumble on them when looking for something.

Thanks for all the job congratulations people Smiley Also, I hope everyones got through the storm safe and sound.

I've finally managed to update my shop a little bit - I'm now offering customised crochet fingerless gloves for 1 point Smiley I've got a whole range of (mainly acrylic) yarn at home and can do most crochet stuff so please just send me a pic or pattern if thats something you would like.

I've also got some clay ornaments on the go, which I should be able to put up sometime tonight/tomorow. I'm thinking of offering both unpainted and painted ones.

Is anyone interested in card making supplies? I've got quite a bit of stuff but make very few cards nowadays.

Also, I'm still really struggling to get decent photographs. I think that is half my cameras fault but even so...if anyone can point me in the direction of some good tutorials/have some tips that would be really lovely Smiley

I've re-opened my shop. New pictures and items should be up this evening Smiley

Also got the job offer Cheesy (well, its a residential volunteer role, so its not like I'll be earning loads of money but still...woo!)

Hi all Smiley

Just made the plunge and have opened my first ever STS shop. Very excited about taking part. Its actually not going to be open very long this week - I'm going off to Edinburgh tomorrow morning for a job interview (lovely 5 hour train journey!) and then going to visit a friend who lives near by, so won't be back home until Sunday. Hopefully when I get back I can work away on my photos (apologies for the incredibly crappy ones at the moment, but I just needed to get my shop up and running between packing!) and add a lot more stock. Anyway, as its my first time if anyones got any advice, especially on prices please let me know Smiley

Welcome to the shop of Angelicus

Open
All products come from a smoke and pet free home in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Half Point Items
Earings

1 point items
Custom crochet fingerless gloves.

I've got a pretty big range of yarns at home (mainly acrylic, acrylic mixes and some cotton/wool) so I should be able to find the colour you're looking for. I've put up two pics of my work, one pretty much plain and the other with a bubble stitch cuff. However, feel free to just send me an image of what you want and chances are I'll be able to make it.

Yay - I'm in Wink

Got so much free time at the moment so I might just get going... I'll definitely be doing some preliminary scribblings anyway!

Just sent in my questionnaire so fingers crossed - I haven't been in a swap for nearly a year now but things are a lot less hectic so I'm really hoping I get into this one.

I love all the cards that have been sent this time - there really are a creative bunch of people on crafster (not that I'm really surprised!)

I received the lovely card below from Jillybeans on my bra theme and she also sent some lovely paper goodies as extras:

I received not one but two lovely cards from Imera. She claimed me for 'bubbles' but also did me an extra on fashion.

Thank you so much both of you Smiley
19  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Croque-en-bouche / Croquembouche on: October 30, 2011 01:58:29 PM
Thanks for the nice comments guys. I have to say it was a bit of a sacrifice breaking into it.

And thanks for letting me know mrsfibble - I just couldn't find out which was the right one as they both came up frequently on search engines etc. Also, your avatar is mesmerising!
20  COOKING / Dessert / Croque-en-bouche / Croquembouche on: October 29, 2011 11:15:44 AM
After being inspired by the tv show The Great British Bake Off that was recently on the BBC, my friend and I decided to create the great croque-en-bouche (also spelt croquembouche - not actually sure which one is correct!). Despite a few (semi!) disasters along the way, which you can read more about on my blog post, we were very pleased with the end result.

Not quite the elegant creation of the french masters of pastry but, hey ho, for a first attempt I'm pretty pleased Smiley

Attempting to add height to the creation Wink

The recipe that we used - more or less - was this one: http://www.deliciousmagazine.co.uk/recipes/croquembouche
And for more photos and a lot of background story - inlcuding the mishaps, check out my blog post here:  http://thoughtsonbubblesandstuff.wordpress.com/2011/10/28/croque-en-bouche-or-tales-from-a-mutinous-kitchen/
