I am a smoker and I am wondering if anyone has some good ideas on how to recycle the empty boxes into crafts or art. I am also trying to quit smoking and I think it might be a good idea to use the empty boxes as a project to keep my hands busy. All ideas are appreciated!
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: My recent knitting! (Lots of pictures) on: February 27, 2011 08:22:51 PM
I knitted the last hat (the one without pictures) as well! It was my first hat, and I love it, although I constantly criticize it..
I love mine! I am making one for a friend now! She loved it. I will post a picture later! (edit: pictures are up!) Would love to see yours. Sometimes its hard to appreciate our own knitting. Im finding that most people (even fellow knitters) are really amazed by the things I have made. In a way you just have to take a step back and realize that hand knitted items are one of a kind. I have seen machine made mass produced items and they are nice but there is something about hand knits that make them really special! All the time and thought we put into them translates into the finished item.

Here is part of their welcome message:

"Please join us and knit/crochet picc line covers for children, teens and young adults fighting cystic fibrosis (CF). Anyone fighting a long term illness where they need a picc line to distribute iv antibiotics/other meds could benefit from a picc line cover."

All the info. and pattern links are on their page.

Just wanted to share this with everyone and help give some love to anyone with health problems.
