I got my awesome package from erinrosemary! Here are the pictures

To start with a lovely bag featuring my favourite viking vamp

The lining is gorgeous

Ohhh won't you come in?

Eric galore!

This was funny because I made her a "TruBlood" bottle too!

I'm pretty sure the beads are to be like vamp bites!

Close up

Thanks erinrosemary!

Yayy I'm glad you liked everything erinrosemary : D

The pillow is hand stitched and was at one point a t-shirt! Here's a shot of the back:

And the "fang banger" set includes black nail polish, black eye liner and bright red lipstick (I went with how Charlaine Harris described the fang banger look)

And now that I've discovered how to make music shakers I've been making them nonstop haha

I received the most amazing package from ilovesnails yesterday! We have different tastes in metal so it was cool sharing some of my favourite bands with her and she used my faves in very crafty ways!! Thanks for everything ilovesnails Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

She made this amazingly soft bag:

It has the word "foresaken" on it which is my all time favourite song by As I Lay Dying

Surprise Strawberry Shortcake on the inside!

This one left me absolutely speechless I feel so honoured to have something made with such detail and talent

Her name is Mel (short for melancholy) and it's an interpretation of Poison the Well's (again an all-time fave.) A Wish For Wings that Work

And a change of clothes for Mel

Some wicked stationery which is ultra good because I study journalism and am always writing away in a notebook

Close up of the giant pencil <3 the skulls

Some fun patches (I especially love the woman's face)

Skull coin purse

And what's inside...?

PINS! of the bands I told ilovesnails I love!!! The I Hate Sally one is my fave. because they are the band that got me into Toronto's hardcore scene (also have a female vocalist! I'm sad they are no longer together)

Everything is so amazing and I was having a horrible sick day yesterday and getting this package just perked me back up. I love how she incorporated all of my beloved bands. Thanks for everything!

I got my amazing package from kristilynne yesterday morning and I was in total awe by the amount of work she put into it!!! I love absolutely everything! I've been in a kind of rut lately trying to figure out what I want to do in life and getting this package has totally cheered me up and has inspired me to be crafty in every aspect of my life! Thanks for everything kristilynne  Smiley Be prepared for tons of pictures!!!

I thought the box my package came in was super creative and it made chuckle!

This is a gorgeous trendy scarf Alice would wear. My dad was home when I got the package and when he saw the scarf he said he wanted it! (haha!) I wore it to my night class yesterday and all my friends said it was really pretty:

This is my big piece. I was in total awe when I saw it. The detail kristilynne put into is just amazing. She said it took her a long time to make it and the results are simply stunning. I really love it because Eclipse was my favourite book and I mentioned that in the swap sign up. Inside the box was a bunch of jewelery she made!

All of the jewelery kristilynne made came in packages with details written on them.

This one is the "There's good blood in forks" earrings (love the pun!!!):

This is a newborn necklace. In the letter she wrote me she described it like this: "The newborn necklace is hard and kinda cold looking with the red colored beads representing the eyes of the shiny skinned newborn vamps" I love the detail she put into everything!!!

This one's not Twilight related but a music lover's necklace especially for me!

A ring the colour of Edward's eyes (fits me perfectly!):

A BELLA BRACELET!!! I've wanted one for SO long! Thank you SO much!

Twilight colour bangles (I LOVE bangles I have so many):

A tiny cute wooden apple:

A "forbidden fruit" hair band! I saw that kristilynne gave this to her last Twiligh swap partner and I said how much I liked it and she got me one! (yay!)

One of my favourite characters is Jasper (and he is mighty cute in the movie too!) :

A Jasper relax kit fully equipped with tea (one of the flavours is chocolate mint!) candy, cream and a candle:

Magnetic mirror that says "I could be a Cullen family member too!"

A lion key cover:

Over all kristilynne is an amazingly talented women and you're uber lucky if you get her as a swap partner!!! Thanks for EVERYTHING!!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I absolutely loved my package from VeniceIsSinking!

She packaged it in a re-used box and used newspapers to wrap things in (woo for not killing more trees!)

Here is everything together:

She painted this lovely teacup set and gave me yummy tea (I drink tea every night with my family!):

I'm going to use this bowl all summer long:

The following pictures are felt coasters she made me! (I love them SO much!):

She painted this circular box and put the coasters in them (so gorgeous):

I'm going to use this to knit myself a pretty scarf:

This pillow is so, so soft:

This is my favourite thing in the whole package. I absolutely love birds and I feel honoured to have this painting!:

Thanks for an AMAZING package VeniceIsSinking!!!

So I went to post my package today but the post office was closed because it's Easter Monday!

I'm feeling pretty crummy for not sending my package out yet so here is a teaser for my partner VeniceIsSinking

It's only a few of the things I've made

9  ZINES ZINES ZINES! (LIBRARIES!) in Ontario by andwedanced on: February 24, 2009 02:43:19 PM
I love zines. I think they're awesome DIY projects and lets people get creative on paper and write about their own histories/thoughts. If you don't know what a zine is they're self-made publications and can be about any topic. They can be basic folded pages with words scribbled inside then photocopied or intricate with paintings, collages and book binding. Here's the wikipedia on zines http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZineThe problem is that access to zines is kind of limiting, especially if you live in a small town. So here is a list of zine libraries (that I know of) in Ontario! :

Toronto Zine Library

http://torontozinelibrary.blogspot.com/

Sheridan Zine Library

http://zineteam.blogspot.com/

Hamilton Zine Library

http://hamiltonzinelibrary.blogspot.com/

OCAD Zine Library

http://zinesforlunch.blogspot.com/

Zines are so much fun to read and make. Most of these libraries have workshops to teach you about the culture and how to make one! I know that at the Toronto Zine Library you can actually borrow zines for a few days.

Hope this was useful!
