1  Cardigan - Lucy in the Sky in Knitting: Completed Projects by ultraviolet on: September 08, 2009 02:14:42 PM

This pattern is from cosmicpluto knits and the yarn is Lamb's Pride Worsted. It went pretty well and I'm happy with it overall. Some of the finishing was a pain and didn't come out looking as good as I would like (you have to look pretty close to see it) but I will probably be wearing this a lot!

There are more pics and information on Ravelry (I am threegoodrats) and on my blog.

2  Hugs and Kisses Baby Socks in Knitting: Completed Projects by ultraviolet on: June 28, 2009 12:48:47 PM

I just made these for a co-worker who is expecting her first baby next month. The pattern is from Interweave Knits, but is also available for free on the Knitting Daily website. The yarn is Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino, which is soft and machine washable, but annoyingly splitty. It was a fun project! There are more details on my blog.

3  Marseilles Pullover in Knitting: Completed Projects by ultraviolet on: May 10, 2009 05:22:45 PM

I feel like I've been working on this forever! My goal was actually to be able to wear it during the winter, but it's a little late for that. I'll pack it away and be surprised to have a new sweater next fall  Smiley

The pattern is from Interweave Knits Summer 2006 issue (because I am nothing if not current!) and I used Cascade 220 yarn, which I really love. I got it at Webs for 20% which I also love! I have some more notes about this project on my blog.

4  Cozy V-Neck Pullover with Deep Ribbing in Knitting: Completed Projects by ultraviolet on: December 09, 2008 07:48:40 AM

This was a quick knit and is my new favorite sweater! The pattern is from Fitted Knits by Stefanie Japel, and I used the recommend yarn, Cascade Pastaza, which is wonderfully soft and comfy. The only thing I did differently from the pattern is that I knit the sleeves in the round rather than flat (no seams!) The top down construction was super quick! I'm seriously considering making another one. There are more pics and info on my blog.

5  Chevron Socks in Knitting: Completed Projects by ultraviolet on: November 22, 2008 04:31:16 PM

I made these from the Chevron pattern from Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch. The yarn is Artyarns Supermerino. It was a cuff-down construction with a forethought heel (which I didn't like). There are more pictures and details on my blog.

6  Lace Ribbon Scarf from Knitty in Knitting: Completed Projects by ultraviolet on: November 02, 2008 02:30:41 PM

I can't believe how long it took me to make this silly little scarf. Note to self: I do not like knitting lace and I do not like knitting scarves, so knitting a lace scarf? Not such a good idea.

There are more pics and info on my blog.

7  St. Enda Sweater in Knitting: Completed Projects by ultraviolet on: October 13, 2008 05:15:40 PM

Finally finished after six long months of trauma and frustration! I'm so happy that it fits perfectly. I'm sure my boyfriend is too, as I've informed him he must wear this sweater every day for the rest of his life.

The pattern is from Alice Starmore's Aran Knitting, which I got from the library (since copies are going for $250 on ebay) and the yarn is Jamieson Shetland Heather. The patterns from that book are written with a LOT of ease, so I made the size small for someone who doesn't usually wear small. My row gauge was tight so I ended up adding length to all the pieces, which was a bit complicated, but I think it turned out pretty well.

There are more pictures and additional information on my blog here.

8  Warm snuggly hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by ultraviolet on: October 07, 2008 08:09:29 AM

My sister is having chemo and lives in Maine where it is cold, so I made her this warm snuggly hat out of the warmest snuggliest yarn I could find, Malabrigo Merino Worsted. I used the pattern (which is more like a guideline, really) from The Knitting Man(ual).

It's a top-down hat, which I really love because they never end up too short. I've made a couple of others too, on my blog here and here. And the hat above is on the blog here, but it's pretty much the same information I just gave you.

9  Dragonfly Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by ultraviolet on: August 26, 2008 08:38:29 AM
I am rather new at sewing, and this is my first bag.

This would have been much easier if the pattern instructions weren't so confusing. If nothing else, this project has inspired my sewing confidence and I can't wait to start more projects!

I wrote a lot more about this project (and why it was so confusing) on my blog here. There's a bit of knitting content at the top, so just scroll past to read about the bag.

10  Baby Blanket in Knitting: Completed Projects by ultraviolet on: August 12, 2008 07:20:07 AM

I just made this for a friend's baby. I sort of used the SnB pattern Big Bad Baby Blanket, but rather than sticking with the four panels, I divided it up further so it looks like a lot of little squares. The pattern is just knits and purls, so it's made all in one piece.

There's a bit more about it on my blog
