2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Finally first thing made! Rockets & Stars Robe 4 son on: April 06, 2010 03:02:43 AM
Over two years ago I got a wild hair up my tushie to take up sewing. Got the machine, fabric, all that jazz only life got in the way. Which made me all pouty because I found this beyond awesome fleece with rockets/stars/planets and was looking forward to doing something with it. And finally I did! Used NewLook 6847 pattern as a rough guide and am rather happy with how it turned out. So woohoo for little toddler robes! Thanks for looking I have lurked on this site for years in awe at everyone's creations I'm all excited to finally have one of my own to share Smiley

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: my very first wearable item e-v-e-r! on: April 01, 2010 09:43:07 PM
Awesome job! I do believe I'm going to try this and see what I can come up with. Looks really good Smiley
4  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Major issues with Brother ES-2000 thread keeps sticking/bunching ;( on: January 12, 2009 06:57:45 PM
Finally I am ready. I sized the hoodie pieces according to one of the tutorials on here. Cut my fabric to scale and pinned where needed. I had tested the machine out a few days ago and it did fine. Only I have no clue what's going on now. I think somewhere I didn't thread something right. Please tell me if the picture below looks right to you? The thread seems off to me but every time I undo the whole thing and start fresh that's how ends up and when I go to sew within a few pumps the underside of the thread bunches up never actually threading fully. It's driving me crazy!

Any suggestions/advice/voodoo that works on sewing machine???

I'm all bummed this is my first project and I was so excited and now I want to throw it out a window.

Thanks in advance I hope someone has an idea what's going on.

Clickie click here for how the thread is laying pretty please.
linked because sadly this is my first post i'm really at my wits end

6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Apron for 2yo boy on: December 22, 2008 11:44:01 PM
I have this awesome material that says "nerds rock" with science stuff ALL over it and have been wondering what to do with this. My son is also 2 years old and I think I have enough for matching aprons for us. I was just going to make some boxers but this is so much more cool thanks!

I love this! We've recently had a LOT of snow and it's so hard to find nifty patterns for boys but these are both great ideas kudos to you Smiley
