I've been tinkering with various projects using mod podge and Print Gocco screen printing. Recently I took some of my stuff over to Honeyspot in Jamaica Plain and arranged to have them sold on consignment. It's a 2 month contract with an option for them to renew with you, assuming people actually buy your things. The split is 50/50 between you and the store. I'm planning on approaching Regeneration Records this week with more things I'd like to sell through a store..has anyone else here sold on consignment in the Boston area? Is 50/50 the usual split? Any good/bad experiences?
I've chosen Honeyspot and Regen mostly because they're in my neighborhood/my boyfriend's neighborhood, so they're convenient. But, I know that they're both fairly new (Regen less than a year, Honeyspot only a few months) so maybe a larger/more established store would be a good option, like The Garment District. Although, I'm completely new to crafting, so a less established place might be more welcoming to my novice products.
I've had fun with craft fairs, but selling through a store appeals because it's year-round and hands off, something sustainable. Any and all consignment advice is welcome!
Have you had much luck with Honeyspot & Regen I'm looking into possibly consigning there. Any info you might have would be great!
