1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Craft Rolls (Gifts) on: November 19, 2009 07:08:30 AM
Not sure of this is in the right place so please move it if isn't!

I made craft rolls for my nieces and nephews for Christmas. I would have liked to make them more elaborate (with more stuff!) but I had to make 8 and I am 36 weeks pregnant so I stuck with something simple. I had made knitting needle holders before using this tutorial http://multicrafty.blogspot.com/2007/09/knitting-needle-case-tutorial.html so that was my inspiration. I think you could make these for anything and just customize the pocket sizes (knitting, crochet, kids crafts, painting, tools)

2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Literal Octo Mom! ...Costume for a pregnant person on: November 03, 2009 03:03:59 PM
I wanted to be something decently warm, not scary (dont want to scare my 2.5 year old!) and that made use of my preggo belly. After months of looking for something online I came up with my own idea  Cheesy The total cost for the costume was less than $10 since I already had the leggings, top and shoes. The octopus is sewn to the shirt and is made out of green velour. I glued on the facial features, because I am lazy and my daughter was "helping" me. I wish I got more action shots (I have video) because the legs moved when I walked. I was considering doing a sea themed hat or face paint but ran out of time.

3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Ring Sling on: July 06, 2009 09:44:31 PM
Made a ring sling. I'm a newbie so I am pretty proud of it!

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Outdoor balcony decorating ideas on: December 06, 2008 03:54:20 PM
My apartment complex is having a balcony decorating contest and the prize is money off rent, we won a contest here in the summer and it was $2oo off rent so we know its going to be a good amount. Problem is we don't have a ton of cash to spend so I want to do it wth what we have or what I can make. We're on the 3rd floor and judging is after dark so it has to be pretty flashy to even show up. I wrapped the white lights I have around the banister and railings but I don't know what else t do. I was thinking to make big gitter cut out circles covered in glitter with poster board. If I spray them with a sealant will they hold up?  We're in Texas so no snow, but maybe rain!

Ideas!
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Respiratory Type Fabric Needed- Help! on: October 29, 2008 07:41:15 PM
I am making a purse for my best friend who is a respiratory therapist and I would like to find some novelty fabric with lungs on it, or maybe something totally opposite like cigarettes to line it with but I have no idea where to find something like that!

Any ideas?
6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Halloween Outfit on: October 19, 2008 07:49:56 PM
I took my daughter to Zoo Boo and this is the outfit (skirt and clips, tee is from target) that I made for her. I'm a new sewer and I think it turned out pretty good!

7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / My first clothing project...A dress for V! on: October 08, 2008 06:59:01 PM
My first clothing item! Previous to this I did a bag and a knitting needle holder. Total sewing novice.  Grin

I used this tutorial http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=162267.msg1642714#msg1642714 as inspiration. Used a tshirt instead of a onsie. I sewed mine on the outside of the shirt but its kind of crooked so I think I'm going to tear it off and do it the way Bellaluna shows in the tutorial.

Sorry for the not so great pic. The model had just got out the tub and was not happy about putting on the dress!
8  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Trick-or -Treat Bag My first Sewing Project EVER on: October 03, 2008 01:23:34 PM
