91  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Need cheap ideas for Asian/Eclectic bedroom, please? on: November 03, 2004 11:13:31 PM

Hi all!  I am a newbie here and have been addicted to reading all the threads on the site for the last two days.  Kids keep bugging me and I can't understand why.  LOL!  I would love some ideas for my bedroom redo.  We currently have blonde 50"s furniture which we plan to keep.  I want to do the walls in a dark purple.  I also want to add leopard print.  Our good friend gave use some fun Japanese decorative items when her father passed away.  (He lived in Japan).  I am hoping to incorporate all of this and make it look good.  Any ideas or links to sites that might have ideas would be great.
92  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Old CDs / AOL CDs / AOL CD Cases on: November 01, 2004 09:54:35 PM
Hi!  New here.  You can make cute Christmas ornaments with aol/old cd's.  You need two cd's, two pictures to fit into holes(school pictures work great), ribbon and hot glue.  Fit picture onto printed side of cd, with picture facing out so you can see it on the non-printed side.  Glue down picture (you can use felt behind the picture if it does not fill hole completely), repeat process on other cd, hot glue ribbon to the back of one cd, then hot glue cd's together.  This is a great craft to make for grandparents and kids can do most of this except the hot glueing.
