I'm in Merritt Island! I would love to get together and/or meet other crafty people or try to organize a craft show or share tips. I'll be away through the holidays but we should all try to get together in Janurary or something!

I'm a jewelry and bead maker as well as a painter....

Hi I'm in the Lincoln Co. area but I would be willing to travel and meet up once a month or so. I'm also participating in a art antique market in Huntersville on 7/11 from 9-2 at the butter bean village market on old statesville rd. It's just getting started but they're hoping to make it a monthly event through the fall. If you sell or like handmade, stop by and give us a holler! I'd love to make friends!

4  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Necchi sewing machine..... on: February 02, 2009 02:44:16 PM
My bf came bringing me home a brand new/ never been used Necchi 3537 sewing machine from a garage sale. I'm a fly by night sewer, i know the basics and have always ended up using my machine for evil purposes i.e. sewing things i shouldn't....sewing machine service etc. is always very expensive where i live so i usually just end up getting a new machine at a sale or thrift store, one with all metal parts and then when it croaks and i can't seem to fix it, i buy another at a thrift store. This one seems to be really nice, made with the quilter in mind, but the folks who had it had never used it -ever- and over the years it had seized up and needed oiled.

Here's the issue, in my quest to diagnose it, i think i messed up the presser foot pressure which was probably manufacturer set, and even on it's tightest setting, it is still very loose. This seems like a really nice machine and i'm debating getting it serviced.....

i read online that necchi machines are a line manufactured by janome and so it seems that it is worth the servicing, probably around $70.

advice? pointers? anything is appreciated.

Hi, I will soon be spending half of the year outside Charlotte (lincolntoln/hickory) and am looking for crafty groups or venues or places in the Charlotte area to sell my work. I haven't been able to do much exploring yet so if anyone can point me in some direction or specific areas of town, i would really appreciate the direction.

etsy teams would also be welcome! i will be looking to make new friends!
