1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Blanket for my baby on: November 21, 2009 12:19:48 PM
After a couple of weeks of work, I finally finished this blanket.  It was my first time making something this big. What do you think?
2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / The Alien on my keyboard! on: October 31, 2009 11:05:26 AM
I am 5 months pregnant, and want to give my baby some toys that aren't just store made. This was my first foray into amigurumi, but I am reasonably pleased with the results. What do you think?
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Christmas Stockings on: December 14, 2008 02:46:26 PM
My husband's cousin saw me crocheting a hat during Thanksgiving, and asked if I could crochet her 1 year old twins Christmas stockings. I had never made anything like that before, and am still a little rusty at crocheting, but here is my effort. I haven't heard back from her if she likes them, but I thought I'd share and see what you think. Feel free to leave any suggestions for improvement (I have a thick skin)  Grin

4  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / I finally resolved to buy proper kitchen implements on: December 01, 2008 05:26:32 PM
OK, I hope someone here can give me some advice, and that I'm posting in the right place. I've saved up a good chunk of money to buy good utensils, cookware, etc.  I don't want to buy some random crap that will cause me to suffer severe buyers remorse.
Anybody have  good recommendations for what should be at the top of my list to set up a inventory of kitchen implements. I'm a decent cook who can follow a recipe, but finally got sick of using crappy tools to put together a nice meal. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Merry Christmas!!!
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / V-stitch hemp bag on: October 03, 2008 11:39:16 AM

V-Stitch hemp bag by madchemist20, on Flickr

I finished this bag a couple of days ago, and my fingers are still cramped. I used hemp, and severely underestimated how hard it would be to crochet  with it. I am still relatively new to crocheting, but was feeling froggy, and I'm reasonably pleased with the results.

Here is the pattern I used: http://suzies-yarnie-stuff.blogspot.com/2008/05/june-go-green-market-bag.html

I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Erica
