It may not keep you warm, or be otherwise practical, but it is totally adorable and looks awesome with a plain t-shirt. Thanks for adding the link. I have a long weekend, so I think I need to hit up the yarn store and get to work!

That pic belongs in a magazine! I love the kid and the color of the yarn is awesome.

It's definitely always better to give than to receive/keep. Besides, you can always make yourself another one, but you will only get to see someone's expression when they receive it once. Of course, it's so easy to say it and harder to do it. Good luck!

The pom-pom added a great touch and I love the colors.

I love how colorful it is! You have inspired me to try my own since Christmas is looming and I have plenty of yarn and my friends keep asking me to make them something!

Thanks for the comments guys! If any of you guys attempt this, i would love to see the results!
--Bolshy: I get my hemp from either online, or from my local Michael's. I really prefer to got somewhere not associated with a chain, but out here in Louisiana, resources are limited, and you gotta take what you can get.  Good luck everyone!

V-Stitch hemp bag by madchemist20, on Flickr

I finished this bag a couple of days ago, and my fingers are still cramped. I used hemp, and severely underestimated how hard it would be to crochet  with it. I am still relatively new to crocheting, but was feeling froggy, and I'm reasonably pleased with the results.

Here is the pattern I used: http://suzies-yarnie-stuff.blogspot.com/2008/05/june-go-green-market-bag.html

I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I'm definitely in for this. I can't make it until I can get to the store this weekend. But I'll start this by Saturday!
