Isadora12000's Mini Gallery

DAY 13
A Countdown Wall Hanging with awesome old school candy and novelty toys! The fabric on day 13 is my fav - It shows a very smug looking Dracula  Cheesy

DAY 12
Each day is packaged in fabric! Today was in a cute little tote. There are all kinds of cooking goodies, from a pumpkin cookie cutter to halloween cookie sleeves and cupcake holders. My favorite has to be the plastic bat cupcake picks... those will be used! Also some really cool embellished skull towels and a super cute fabric bowl, which is already holding items on my dresser.

And last but not least - Vampire Mr. Pumpkin-Head!!

DAY 11
Day of the Dead goodies today!

Such amazing stuff! Stuffed skull and cross bones, gorgeously embroidered Calaveras

I squealed when I pulled this little guy out of his box - he is sewing, which is what I do, he is going to live in my work space.

And something I have been wishing for forever Mexican Loteria cards, but she didn't just give me a few - she gave me the whole game!! Awesome!

DAY 10
9 amazing cross-stitched ornaments. Dracula, bats, black cats, a coffin... they are so awesome and my partner has skills!

And a cute little tree to hang them on! Also my cat was perfectly convinced that the sequin garland was for her.

Day 9
Day 9 was a little bit of everything. Some really neat vintage seals and stickers that I will probably use with resin. 2 cute little pins, and halloween rubberbands!

Not to mention one very soft and lovely shawl. It is huge, I can't wait to use it once it gets a little cooler. The photo doesn't do the color of the yarn justice. Also a lovely neck wrap. It's the perfect size to tuck into a coat! I love it.

Day 8
Pumpkin day! 3 knitted pumpkins, I am having a hard time convincing my cats that the small pumpkins were not made for them! A pumpkin soap dispenser, a glow paint embellished drink holder and some neat little paper pumpkins.

Day 7
Pirate day! Some awesome pirate goodies. A pouch that fits my phone perfectly! A pen, a pirate figure, of Anne Bonnie maybe, she will join my other pirates soon. A pirate flag, that got cut out of the photo and a pirate flag cup.

However Dracula was tired of hanging out with the pirates, he was quick to make friends with his own kind...

And some pretty ruffled pajama pants! I know my partner was pretty excited about these ruffles and after seeing them so am I!!

So much awesome stuff - I can't believe we are already half way done!

DAY 6
I was excited about this day. I knew my awesome partner nostephot was going to make me a journal of some kind that I could use for mailing lists and things as I travel to conventions with my business. I LOVE IT!
Front and Back Cover

Detail of front cover

And opened. What's great is that it's refillable.

Also got some awesome hand carved gear stamps, an amazing book mark and some cool black cat cards.

DAY 5
4 beautiful necklaces. My fave is the crescent moon, it looks old and fabulous. The others have a wonderful mixture of gears and inner clock pieces that will go great with my steampunk gear.

Also a cute little corseted jewelry stand. I love her! The fabric bag for today was halloween pin-up boys!

DAY 4
I got a Bat Bag! I have been wishing and wisting this bag since I sound craftster, oh sure I could have sewn it for myself ages ago... but that's not the point!! It made a crappy day awesome! There is also a great little pouch made with Edward Gorey fabric (I'm not sure where she found that fabric, but I need to look for some), A great skeleton bat cup wrap! He is fantastic and makes me giggle each time I look at him. There is also a set of bat earrings that I will be wearing saturday night as part of my bat girl costume!

DAY 3
More lovely Day of the Dead items, a great little bag that is embellished and bright! A simple and pretty wreath, the flowers are great! And my favorite of the day an embroidered Jack wall hanging, just like I had wisted. I tell you what my partners embroidery skills are awesome!

DAY 2
So when I gushed to my partner about how cool the Edward Gorey fabric was, she said just you wait for whats coming next...

A fantastic wall hanging! It's already hanging in my bedroom.

And a really really soft appliqued blanket with more characters from the Edward Gorey fabric!! Awesome!

DAY 1
The Gorey fabric extravaganza continues much to my delight!!

An fantastic bag with 4 big pouches and bags and 2 tiny tote bags!! I was fully spoiled! I have been using it the last couple of days and have gotten nothing but compliments on it.

This was an amazing swap! My partner could not have been better, I truly love everything she made me!

3  Re: A crafty detective gallery of sneakiness!! in The Swap Gallery by isadora12000 on: June 04, 2009 07:20:58 AM
Well I'm not sure what happened to my partner, I know she received ages ago so I'm going to post pics of what I sent her.

I wrapped up each item with a clue to who I was...  kind of like a stalker scavenger hunt.

Everything. The little spider/octopus looking items are cat toys I made for her kitties. I also sent her some cupcakes and some scrapbook papers with little hedgehogs on it.

Goosegg1001 wanted a laptop bag and had one wisted that had these cute little hedgehogs on it, so I did my own spin on some hedgy-love! Each little hedgehog is layers of fake suede spikes and a cute little button nose. The bag is also quilted for extra protection.

Check Book Wallet

Set of re-usable lunch/snack bags. I liked making these and ended up making a bunch more.

My partner wanted to learn how to do resin crafts, so I made her up a kit of some of my favorite products to make resin goodies out of and some instructions.

Some button flowers in her favorite colors.

and lastly a CD wallet for her car.

Thanks for looking while I tooted my own horn Cheesy

I received my goodies! There are so many amazing things I was spoiled so there are many pictures!!

I opened my package to find beautifully wrapped goodies and a very clever pictonary style clue! Can you guess who it is... thankfully she also wrote out the answer. It is NotKnit!

Group shot of everything!

There are not 1 but 4 scarlets made right from my wist. I was hoping for some knitted items and that wish was granted big time!! Many of them are made with bamboo and silk yarns. They are all so soft and warm and amazingly knitted - I can't wait till it's cool enough around here to wear them..

Aren't the buttons beautiful? This one will look great next to my winter coat.

I think (as of right now) this one is my fav. I love the way it fits and feels  Cheesy

the yarn is so pretty on this one, I wear a lot of green, brown and black... so this one will always match.

And lastly this corset style scarflet in a creamy soft knit. I will be using this one in the cooler months when I am working at the local Renaissance fair.

But that's not all, I also got some really cool extras...

2 little pin cushions this was her first time hand sewing and she did a great job. 2 hemp necklaces, this was also her first time doing hemp knot work and let me say they look awesome as well. I am wearing the black one right now and it fits perfectly. They have natural seashells on them. And 2 little skulls! How did you do that?! They are so cute, I think I know just what I will put them on.

I also received some pirate stickers and fabric, an alter candle, and a skully patch. Great package all around, I love it all!

Thank you so much NotKnit!

5  Train Case Rehab in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by isadora12000 on: April 10, 2009 02:51:08 PM
Refinishing a Train Case

I guess this is the right place for this its a bag of sorts and Ive seen some other train cases on here too, but if it needs to be moved, please do so.

I found this lovely little green train case at the thrift store. They are wonderful arent they, it smells like old make up, which reminds me of my grandma and the case she used to carry on every vacation we ever went on. Anyway here it is all green glory with its stained insides that have surely seen better days.

I started to pull the thing apart, it was dusty and icky and I wanted to wash my hands as soon as I was done.

I used the old bits as patterns for the new fabric and backing.

I taped up all the chrome bits, they were in good condition and I wanted to keep them original. Then I took the case outside and spray painted the case and the tray all a nice neutral brown color. I was worried about the paint sticking but so far it seems to be ok.

After letting it dry for about a day I got to work on putting back in the inside fabric. Since my case will be used as a display I just glued everything into place, if I were going to use it for a real toiletry case I would have used a more cleanable fabric and better glue. So far everything seems to be staying in place, well see how it goes after a few weekends of shows!

Thanks for looking

7  Re: Hooray for Craftster-wood: The Old Movies Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by isadora12000 on: March 06, 2009 10:28:37 AM
Ok I got my awesome package from dollbecky the other day, and I was so excited about everything. She put a ton of work into this package, it really is fantastic. Each thing I opened made me do a little dance of happiness - thankfully the hubby wasn't home to witness the dance of swap happiness  Grin

On to Pictures!

Everything!! a tote, stickers or iron ons, earrings, a snood, a shirt, hair clips, and little pouches.

Close up of the amazing tote all the embroidered detail is just, well it leaves me speechless! It is inspired by the movie Camelot.

This beautiful little cuff has a little corset embellishment. I love it and it fits perfectly, which is great, cause I have tiny wrists and she didn't know that  Cheesy I am going to wear this all the time. The fabric is so rich and soft too!

Hair clips. The little rosette ones are made from curtains (a'la Gone with The Wind) The earrings are a nod to Cleopatra. They are simply beautiful!

Magnets - sorry for the blurry pic - they show some of my fav actors, Marlon Brando, Clark Gable, Vivian Leigh, and Bella Lugosi. They are going right up on the fridge or in my craft room, I can't make up my mind!

Some very pretty lace bits that I will have to add to something very soon...

A wonderful green snood - and it fits! I have hair down past my waist and I can tuck it all up in there. I love it!!

And last but not least this really cool re-con shirt. It's stamped and sewn and so comfy! it fits wonderfully, but all the action shots I tried to get looked so silly, you know trying to take photos in the mirror... so I can't wait to wear it when it warms up around here!

Really an amazing swap and i am so happy with all my goodies! Thank you dollbecky for all your hard work, and thanks to sixblueirisies for a great swap!

8  Pirate Murder Mystery Party in Party Planning by isadora12000 on: February 02, 2009 08:54:03 AM
I hosted a pirate themed mystery party last fall. I mailed out invitations to each guest that contained their identities, a local paper to let them in on the goings on around the island, and costume ideas. While all this information came in the game packet that I could just copy and send out, it was very plain so I typed everything up in a pirate-y fount, printed it on parchment like paper and tore the edges. I sent out the invites about a month early so everyone could get their costumes in order and had time to make arrangements if people cancelled. You have to get the mood going early!

During that time I got busy crafting!

Im always making costumes so first I made sure my costume and one for my mom was finished as the host I just put together a typical wench/tavern costume out of my costume closet. My mom was the island chief so we reconed a brown and cream dress into her costume.

Then I made nametags for each player, I used badge holders and found some skull and cross bones lanyards, in each badge holder I placed a name tag, and all the secrets and abilities for each player. The holders worked out great because all the information a player needed was right there for them. Since there were 4 groups of people, 2 pirate gangs, British governors and their family, and the natives on the island each tag also had an icon that identified them with a group so is was easy to see who was friend and foe. I also stamped some black leather bags and stuffed them with gold coins to give to each player, even though the game didnt call for money I felt it might be more fun to encourage deals and alliances with money.

Name badges and money pouches

Some pirate-y letters

The party was held in my grandmothers beautiful old farm house, the living room has high ceilings with exposed wooden beams and a fire place it was perfect for the tavern feel. Since the party was to be located on an island I knew I wanted a tropical feel, but wanted it to be a tavern atmosphere too where guests could drink, mingle, make alliances and find the killer.

Flying the Pirate Flag

I set up small tables with glass lanterns and candles for people to sit at. I also made some coasters out of cork board and stamped them with pirate images

A large table with drinks and another with food was also set up in the area to encourage people to move around. I made food that could be walked around with Jamaican Jerk chicken kabobs, cheese, fruit and veggie trays, cheese fondue (one of the characters had a fear of cheese so I made sure to have a few cheesy dishes), red beans and rice, shrimp, bread and a watermelon that I made into a pirate ship!

No one was able to guess the killer in the end but everyone had a blast and we are thinking about making it an annual event!

9  Re: Alice in Craftster-Land - SEND DATE: 1/7 in The Swap Gallery by isadora12000 on: January 21, 2009 06:59:15 AM
Ok so as I said I received my fabulous package from Kitten Wrangler, I really love everything she sent me. It all matches and can be used as a set or apart, it's wonderful! ok so on to the photos.

This is the whole package, with some very pretty gold leafed paper that Kitten Wrangler wrote a note on for me about the items she made.

I love this and have already slipped it in the the bag to carry with me, it is a carry-out cup reusable cozy - in other words it replaces that cardboard sleeve they sometimes give you to keep from burning your hands. Now I have my own, and how cute is it that with "Drink Me" all hand embroidered and awesome!!

And what is this little thing...

It's the best tea wallet EVER! I just adore the Mad Hatter and the tea party, and the wallet is covered in one of my favorite quotes. I am a big tea drinker and always needed a way to cary my tea with me - I was using a little tin before, but no longer!

And finally the best part of the package, a small messenger bag! You see I have a tote and messenger bag sickness - I can never have enough of them... and this one is the perfect size plus it has a beautiful transfer on the front by Arthur Rackham who's illustrations I just love as well as the quote "It's the stupidest tea party I ever was at in all my life!"  Grin I love IT! My husband however rolled his eyes and said "another bag, really" boys!

Open to show all the matching coolness

Action shot.. in the mirror - but see it's just the right length and size - well done!

and lastly full of all my stuff  Grin

This was a wonderful swap and I loved everything you made for my Kitten Wrangler, really it is all just perfect - Thanks for showing me an awesome first swap.

10  Homemade Snuggie - part blanket, part robe in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by isadora12000 on: December 01, 2008 02:06:15 PM
Have you seen the Snuggie on tv? It's part blanket, part robe, and all fleecey goodness for $20 + $8 shipping. Crazy! Yes, it's a little silly to have another blanket so you can have your arms warm and free, but my Grandma wanted one for christmas and I just couldn't see spending that much on something I new I could make for much less. It ended up being super easy to make, took me less than an hour to make 2 of them, also the cost came in at about $9 each.

I found a pattern at http://www.sissonfamily.com/Sewingroom/images/2006projects/thesnuglet.pdf

For Grandma:

For my Stepmom:

The back, I guess they assume you will always be sitting or laying down in the Snuggie since the back is open, otherwise your backside is still going to be cold!
