ETA: Can I get more info on the adhesive you used??

Not sure what else you want to know- I got it at a hardware store, it was about $6 for a 148mL tube. It's actually a sealant and adhesive, which is what I wanted since my windows also have leaks in them.
Here is a pic:

2  scrabble chalk board in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by libraryzombie on: December 20, 2005 11:28:21 PM
Hey, I used blackboard paint for the first time making a scrabble chalk board as a gift for a scrabble fan. The paint was inexpensive and available at a local hardware shop. I used two coats. It works pretty well as far as I can tell, I wrote on it in chalk and erased it fine.
All I did was use masking tape to edge off a square (I'm a messy painter) and put a square of tape in the middle to keep the star. I painted it, and then glued on some letters and the letter holders which make a convenient chalk holder. I drilled a couple holes at the sides and top so it can be nailed into the wall, and attached some nails with tape on the board.
I Included "chalk" in English and French, because the girl I'm giving it to is French.

3  Re: cribbage peg board in Completed Projects by libraryzombie on: December 20, 2005 04:58:25 PM
thanks! Well, maybe I should have made that clear to begin with. It's a card game that you play with a board and pegs, to keep track of the points you earn from the cards.
Here are unpainted cribbage boards:

4  slides on my sun roof (pic) in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by libraryzombie on: December 20, 2005 04:17:01 PM
My sun roof is right above my computer, and I wanted to find a way to dim the light a bit without completely blocking it out. Then I found a bunch of old slides in a forgotten corner of my house, and my problem was solved. I attached them using Lexel Clear, a transparent adhesive that sticks to wet surfaces after drying, and sticks to pretty much anything.

5  cribbage peg board in Completed Projects by libraryzombie on: December 20, 2005 04:11:52 PM
I made this board for my g-f who is a big fan of cribbage. It's made to hang up, and the clothes pegs are so she can put cards/notes/etc. up on display. It's not actually for playing crib, obviosuly, since some holes are covered. All I did was glue on the smaller clothes pegs, spray paint the whole thing silver (but first I covered the few areas I wanted to keep with tape), wait for it to dry, take off the tape and glue on this humungous black clothes pin I found at the dollar store. Then I just drilled a couple holes at the top and put hooks in. Note that I left a few pegs in, and titled it "crib notes". yeah for puns.

6  Oreo cookie pillow (pics) in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by libraryzombie on: December 20, 2005 04:06:18 PM
I made an oreo pillow for my brother who is a huge oreo fan. It was pretty simple because I am a pretty basic sew-er. Black velour, white cotton and felt letters (brown on one side, white on the other because I didn't have enough of either colour felt to do both.

7  Re: periodic table of elements magnets in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by libraryzombie on: December 28, 2004 04:30:27 PM
Thanks again for all the nice comments. Here is a pic of the finished product on its sheet of metal. I ended up using a cheap cookie sheet, upside down,  because I couldn't find a store that sold sheet metal nearby, and because it's not sharp or anything.

8  tasseled sushi pillows in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by libraryzombie on: December 28, 2004 04:27:01 PM
Here are a set of sushi pillows I made for a holiday present for my father (a sushi aficionado). This was my first time trying tassels, but they were pretty easy to figure out (though difficult to see in this pic, unfortunately). The backs of them are a sort of white textured fancy material. I wanted to make them look formal, because my paretns have a lot of old, ornate furniture, and I thought it would be funny for them to have these fancy pillows, which match the room, but have big pictures of sushi on them. The one on the left has a phototransfer of a Japanese chart over top of the heat transfer, which came from a book on sushi.

9  periodic table of elements magnets in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by libraryzombie on: December 17, 2004 08:34:48 PM
OK, everyone including the school librarian at the junior high near my house has made the glass bead magnets, but I made 110 of them for my chemistry-loving brother, and I decided I had to post it here.

I am going to give them to him on a magnetic board made from a sheet of metal from a hardware store.
