The chunky ones are my favorites too, but they're all so beautiful that it's hard to choose favorites. Makes me want to crochet some more jewelry some time soon!

That gingerbread house is amazing. What a great way to use up scrap yarn!

I haven't actually done this, but I've heard that you can use fabric paint on the bottoms of crocheted slippers. When it dries, the ridges act to resist slipping.

No pressure, but I also hope that you will be hosting another BAMCAL. I enjoyed doing this one immensely! I thought that the squares you chose were lovely.

If you are cooking for a large crowd, it is appropriate to ask people to bring a favorite dish (but for them to let you know what they're bringing so that there won't be duplicates). Or, you can plan a menu, decide what you'll make, and then specifically ask for the others to sign up for what's left. That way, you won't have the task of cooking the whole meal yourself.

If it's just you and a few others, only cook what you can conceivably consume. Leftovers are great, but they have to all fit in your refridgerator! Don't go overboard.

Prepare anything that can be made ahead the day before. Cranberries are not served warm, so they are a prime candidate. Pie crusts must be chilled, so make that ahead and put them in the pie plates so that they're ready for the filling. You get the idea.

Also, I've heard horror stories about people not alloting enough time to cook the turkey. I'm a vegetarian, so I can't speak from personal experience, but apparently that is key.

I specifically chose colors to go with my guest bedroom (where the afghan will live). And, since they're neutral, I figure even if the guest bedroom gets redone, the afghan won't outlive its usefulness. It should be able to go with many color schemes for years to come. Sure, it's not the snazziest of color combinations, but it's not so trendy that I'll get tired of it soon either.

I'm just coming off of a very particular cottage color scheme afghan for my sister, a purple and lavendar afghan for her 7-year-old daughter, and a rainbow (scrap) afghan for a new baby. This one is so soothing to my eyes! 

I've been working frantically since the end of March to start (and finish) a baby blanket before the baby got here, so I've been playing catch-up:
