21  Hug Monster in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by justaddcats on: November 26, 2008 11:39:02 AM
I made this for my nephew's second birthday from some scrap fleece and an old t-shirt.  His arms are really long (for huggin'!) and have velcro on the hands.

Thanks for looking!

22  necklace -> bracelet + what else? in Beads: Completed Projects by justaddcats on: November 24, 2008 03:24:57 PM
I got two of these necklaces at a thrift store this summer.  The beads are covered with some kind of silkish fiber--never seen anything quite like 'em.  I finally turned the gray one into this (with some simple matching earrings not pictured):

The question is, what do I do with the other one?

Ideas?  Keep in mind, my beading skills are minimal.

23  "quilted" purse? in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by justaddcats on: November 12, 2008 05:24:21 PM
I got the very bright idea that I should only handmake gifts (watch out, Christmas!) SO... I asked my mom what she'd like for her birthday (thinking she'd say, "Oh whatever you want to make!" in her typical easy-going way).  Was I ever surprised when she said she wanted a Vera Bradley bag!  I had no intention of actually buying VB fabrics (though they're lovely) so I interpreted her request to mean "quilted-looking."  No idea how to do that really either, but here's the result:

The semi-wonky inside:

All feedback welcome.  What I'd really like to know: does anyone have any ideas about a pattern/shape for the lining that allows this kind of center zip?   I totally winged it with some weird U shapes and it came out okay (if you don't look too close!), but I'd like to know how to do better.

24  Election Day owl in Craft The Vote! by justaddcats on: November 03, 2008 06:18:24 PM
This poor little guy got lost on his way to celebrate Halloween, and decided to stick around for Election Day.

The idea is from Tutowlrial(http://moonstitches.typepad.com/photos/tutowlrial/index.html) which I've seen referenced on a number of Craftster posts (sorry, can't remember which ones).

The political twist is for the hostess of the Election party I'm going to tomorrow night.  I have zero embroidering experience and am kinda impressed with my freehanding the logo (and for thinking ahead to glue it on a safety pin so it's removable!).
