71  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: First Clothing Piece - Summer Dress (but for Christmas..) on: November 02, 2008 01:09:28 PM
Thanks! Cheesy  I made a few more adjustments this morning (like following the zipper directions) and it fits much better now.
I hope this is the start of lots and lots of clothes made by me to come!

Oh, and if anyone is interested, I used Simplicity Pattern 2884.
72  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / First Clothing Piece - Summer Dress (but for Christmas..) on: November 02, 2008 08:12:27 AM
I finally finished my first ever clothing piece last night (aside from my Halloween costume, which doesn't really count.)  I had a small scare that it wouldn't fit me, but in the end it's a biiiit too big (I'm really small-chested and most patterns do not accommodate this  Sad).  I also didn't follow the pattern for the zipper because I didn't understand the instructions, but honestly, I don't think I'll wear this dress anyway.  I'll probably end up making another and try to avoid any mistake I made with this one.

But, I'm still quite proud of it!!  Here's some pics, let me know what you think!

That's such a nice dress, I'm in love with the fabric...  I never fall in love with fabric when I go to a fabric store...  I only love fabric other people have...

Did you use a pattern?
74  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Pebbles Costume on: October 22, 2008 05:45:47 PM
I want to make a Pebbles costume (or Wilma costume - anyone with red hair will do) for this Halloween.. but I don't know where to start.  I'm sure it's not rocket science, but I'd like some sort of guidance/tutorial and have had no luck so far in my search.

I want to make the sort of "adult" style Pebbles costume (like this), but with the baby colors (green/blue or brown/black.)

Any thoughts?
75  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Boxy Pouches (& my first post) on: October 18, 2008 09:21:13 PM
Thanks! Smiley

I made a few modifications to this tutorial here.  It's really easy and fun to make!  For the tampon pouch I made it up as I went along.  It's the only one I've successfully put a proper (as in, not Head&Bond-ed) lining in as well.

I love this!  I so have to make one, even though where I get my tea/coffee usually provides me with a Styrofoam cup that doesn't burn me..

I love this!  I really like the polka dot accents.

Hi guys!  This is my first post here, I'm not sure if there is a forum for intros... in any case, here are a few things I've made.  I like to make purses and pouches, cellphone cases, etc..  The ones I'm showing here are little boxy make-up pouches I've been making a load of lately.  (I have a bad habit of making things for people and then getting so excited to give it to them, I forget to take pictures beforehand...)

Oops I didn't realise I couldn't post pictures... I hope the links are okay..

This is the first one I made, also my first experience with a zipper.  I use it myself for makeup.

Here is another.  This one is a going-away prezzy for my best friend who's moving away.

I also made one for tampons.  It's much smaller obviously:

What do you think?

I'm trying to figure out what my next project will be... There's too many things on this site I wanna try!
