3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / The Mommy Blanket on: July 16, 2005 09:54:03 PM

This is my attempt at the mommy blanket from www.crochetme.com
if any of you want to try out this pattern it is from last months issue. I modified it a bit because I had to work fast, and alot of the time i worked on it away from the computer and i didn't ahve any ink to print out the pattern, so i would just guess, and i messed up the pattern a bit. I changed the boarder a bit because i didn't want to think about how to do it, so i just did it.
This was the first time i had used the double chain stitch and it took me awhile to figure out how to do it consistently. just keep your stitches loose with that one.
Then the treble front post stitches are a bit tricky to get used to.
all in all i think this took me around 30 hours to make, but i'm kind of slow honestly. i think it looks pretty cool.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Designer Roll Call on: June 02, 2005 09:03:38 AM
Who here designs their own patterns???

Who here lives in the midwest and designes their own patterns?

I'm wondering because I'm looking for possible pattern submissions for a new magazine that is coming out (we will be looking at stuff world-wide but for the first issue we are looking at midwesterners, because we're in the midwest).

If you design stuff post your website, sample photo's of your work, or pm me about sending photo's my way.

Hey everyone, I am co-working on a craft pattern/pin-up photography cd-rom zine called tactille. Josi the editor has decided to launch a contest so I thought I would post the guidelines here. And just so all of you know, i'm going to be the submissions coordnator, i'll post more about the actuall zine when we get the guidelines together.

The Ass Hat Contest

Make an Ass Hat. Whatever that means to you, make it. Any materials, any techniques. Take notes and document your project. Submit your photos & pattern notes to josi@tactille.com. Pattern should be an attached TXT or DOC file. Photos should be JPG and at least 1200 x 1600 pixels.

All entries must be received by June 15th, 2005. Entries will be posted up on the Tactille website and visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite project. After one week, 1 Grand Prize and 10 First Prize winners will be decided based on total votes accumulated. Ties will be decided by random drawing.

The Grand Prize winner will receive a $25 Gift Certificate to either The Weird Mirror Yarn Club or Land of Odds or JoAnn Fabrics (the choice is up to the winner). The Grand Prize winner will also receive a 1 year subscription to the new Adult DIY magazine, Tactille.

The 10 First Prize winners will receive a 1 year subscription to the new Adult DIY magazine, Tactille.
