my lovely friend works in a charity shop and was moaning that they never sold the neckties, so, not being one to waste an opportunity said 'I'll have them!'
and made this bag to carry my toot around in.
the main body is navy blue linen with a simple poly cotton lining, I only have one pocket for my phone, as I hate rooting around in different bits of bags for the things I inevitably lose!

the inside. simples.

I have FAR too many pairs of scissors,
so, to stop them breeding at the bottom of my workbox, I had to rein them in.
I got together some fabric from the stash, and the obligatory ric-rac and ribbon, ( I have an unhealthy obsession with ric-rac...)
I got hold of a clip-art picture of scissors, used iron on printer/transfer paper to make a label,
and hey, presto, a scissor roll!

 I wasn't too sure where to post these,but, they are to protect my clothing!
My other great love is growing veggies on my allotment, and after scrabbling around trying to find something to kneel on, I realised that what I needed was knee-pads.
so, I got together some scraps and made these babies!
I used some of that synthetic, already quilted table-protector fabric (if you know what I mean!) as a wadding to give them some substance

it was my sisters birthday, and due to the 'current economic climate' I was 'brassic' (cockney rhyming slang--  boracic lint  -- skint )
So I found a curtain remnant for £1, used my box of scraps and bits and bobs, and made an apron that hopefully looks a bit more than the meagre amount that it cost!
It also has the first bit of patchwork I've ever done 

and with some fabric left over, I made a matching teatowel
my daughter drew flowers on some A4 printer paper that we stuck together to make wrapping paper,
so, a cheap gift, but full of love

there was a close up picture here of the patchwork, but it wouldn't load, so I've taken it away to sit on the naughty step 

I bought some lovely Welsh pure wool tweed from a christmas fair last year for 2 pounds (VERY cheap!) and it sat around for a long time before i knew what to do with it, then inspiration struck,so, I made it into this handbag.
I sketched out the pattern on some newspaper, and started sewing..
The flower is made from appliqued felt (that I had wet felted  some time before) and added some sequins
the ribbon trim was taken from the hanging straps of a new top that I cut off.
It was lined with some brown and pink printed floral fabric
I sold the bag at another fete for £20.00, within half an hour of setting up my stall, raising money for our school.
so I feel very proud of myself!

I was clearing out my son's clothes cupboards, and realised that my daughter could do with some new winter clothes.
So, I took some of my boys trousers, cut off the legs, added turn-ups and some applique, and hey presto, a pair of shorts for wearing over leggings or tights when the weather gets cooler!  
my girl is not a 'girly-girl' and likes getting messy, so I hope she gets lots of wear out of these, and it saves throwing something away
