3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Christmas Traditions? on: November 08, 2008 07:35:23 AM
I am so loving this post! It's so neat to read what everyone does for the holidays.

One thing we always do is put the Christmas tree up really early. With my husbands work, it's not guaranteed when he'll be at home, so instead of waiting until early December, I rather just put it up in early November if we can. Everyone thinks we're crazy, but it makes for a long holiday season, which I love! We also have to watch the Garfield Christmas about a million times and take lots of rides to look at lights and get Star Bucks. Growing up, on the night of December 5th, we celebrated Nikolaus (my dad is from Germany) and we put our shoes outside our door. The next morning we'd awake to tiny treats inside! My husband and I do this as well, it's the tradition that means the most to me. And finally, we spend Christmas Eve with his family and Christmas day with mine.

Hey everyone! It's been a while since anyone has written here, so I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Heather, and focus mostly on embroidery and baking (that's a craft, right?), though I've been known to make the odd pasty here and there lol. I'd love to start a "stitch and b*tch" here in town, if you're interested, let me know!
