Here's my last two cards:

The first is of Roman Chester from Saor. She picked it up while on holiday there. It looks like a really fun place to explore.

The second (I appologize for the flash!) is from MissWendiki and is home of a famous philanthropist from her town. He was a lumber baron. How chic. Smiley

Thanks, ladies. I love all the cards I received.

Wow. July is all about tote bags. Smiley

Here is one that Lrschic made for me. She said that she couldn't decide on an applique so she made me a ton of little felt pins that I can change in and out. Their expressions are so cute!

The bag is actually a square shape (although you can't see it in the pictures). And she included some great pockets inside. I had to take a photo of this adorable little paper pen that she made to illustrate the pocket uses. Cheesy

Thanks so much, Lrschic! I hope you like your package as much as I do. Smiley

Bullseye had a fabulous time yesterday hanging out with all his homies. We went to Kentucky Horse Park for Bryer Fest. This is one of the places & events that my partner Wildfyre had always wanted to attend. My mom and I went (we both love horses) and had an amazing time!!

Here's a picture of Bullseye watching one of the drill teams for Bryer Fest. They did all this syncronized movements - which was a lot of fun to watch. Bullseye was a little upset that he didn't have a cool costume like everyone else.

I came home from the event and told my guy that I wanted to get a Friesian. Surely he won't mind cleaning up after it for me??  Grin [Ha!! He just came into the room and saw me looking at websites for that breed of horse (for my link here) and was like "What are you doing?  Shocked " ... I said "Oh, just shopping." haha.]

Great stuff, everybody. Cheesy

Here's my fantastic swap package from Kyou! I absolutely love EVERYTHING!!

This shot shows everything. She sent me a cute clutch -- which is like the one that Rory and Lorelai fought over. A sweet little amigurumi deer -- like the one that ran into Rory on her way to Chilton. And a great knit hat -- with purple details in the color that Lane colored her hair... for an hour. Cheesy And she threw in some postcards because I collect them.

This pic shows the cute tail on the deer and also the detail on the hat. I love the little heart!!

Thanks so much Kyou! Cheesy

Here's the postcards I have received so far:

Top Left: This one is from balkandina and shows Blackpool, England where her mom is from. It's famous for its tower and the donkeys on the beach. Such a cool pick from 1922.

Top Right: The covered bridge postcard is from whatzudoin in a private swap. My dad loved to try to find these when I was a kid.

Bottom Left: This beautiful southern antebellum mansion from Beaufort, SC came from have2swap. Very lovely.

Bottom Right: This awesome Elvgren print came from veganxwater. I already put this postcard up on the bulletin board in my craftroom.

Thanks everyone!! I hope to have more to post soon. Cheesy

26  Re: Sweat shoppe swap Round 10! (SSS 10) CLOSED! in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by novastarlet on: July 16, 2007 10:31:17 AM
While we are all waiting for the list to show up...

Yesterday I worked on making the screens for printing onto the tote bags. I'm thrilled to say that they turned out wonderfully -- even better than I was expecting. I decided to go with the little girl with the thread (2nd girl). The screen turned out great, that is. I'm going to be printing tomorrow so we'll see Wink

I also made a smaller screen of the 1st girl holding the button. I'm thinking that I might make pouches out of that later.... or something.

Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know. Smiley

27  Russian Matrioshka Doll Pillow in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by novastarlet on: July 13, 2007 09:44:33 AM
The pillow applique was inspired by a change purse on Fred Flare.com.

I made this pillow for the Gilmore Girls Swap (cause Rory loves Russian authors -- a stretch, I know Wink ). There were only 8 of us in the swap though so I thought I would make a separate post for this. I really love how it came out. Cheesy

I am in the process of making another one in different colors.

Here's one I did for a private swap with Lrschic. Thanks for posting pictures!

And here's another that I made in the Matrioshka Swap for my partner SuzukiBeane33!

Thanks for looking!!

Oh, whale watching sounds like fun. Smiley

Here's a mystery shot of Bullseye around my town. My mom actually went sight-seeing with me today and this pose was her idea! Cheesy

Here's a picture of a Matrioshak Doll Pillow I made for the Gilmore Girls Swap though. Thought you guys might like it. Wink

30  Re: End of Gilmore Girl Swap Gallery -- MASSIVE PICTURES!! in The Swap Gallery by novastarlet on: July 07, 2007 02:09:51 PM
Yay! My partner finally received. Here's some photos of the loot:

The package included: Union Jack box (because Logan moved to London), Russian doll pillow (because Rory loves Russian authors), Lorelai snowglobe, biscotti (R & L ate it while watching Luke and Taylor fight over the window between their businesses), cupcake zippered pouch, coffee pull string bag, Stars Hollow tour scrapbook, gnome bookmark (Babette collects them), chick bookmark (Rory's high school project) and some random stickers. Yes, I went a bit overboard. Tongue

I am totally in love with this pillow! I'm in the process of making one for myself and for a private swap. Cheesy

This scrapbook probably took the most time to make. It shows photos (yes, real photos!) of all the most noteworthy buildings in Stars Hollow.

I know there are probably more than enough pictures on this post but if you are interested in seeing more pages of the scrapbook or close-ups on the other items you can check them out on my flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/novastarlet/sets/72157600623914637/
