Team: Randomizer
Event: craftology
Bonus Points:
Project Name: George and Tia wood burning
Project Link:
Brief Description: These are my partner's (Alittlemusthave) dogs, George and Tia, from the Craft my Pet swap.  She supplied a picture and I tried to replicate it onto the wood.  Doing portraits is not my big thing but I think it turned out alright.

Prompt:  June- Button Up
Team: Randomizer
Event: craftology
Bonus Points:
Project Name:  George cute as a button
Project Link:
Brief Description: My first attempt at button art.  This was for the Craft my Pet swap.  The buttons are glued onto a painted canvas.  This was slightly difficult because up close I struggled to see the features of the dog but from farther away I could make it out so I have to place the buttons, step away and come back to glue them down Smiley

Prompt:  June- onomatopoeia
Team: Randomizer
Event: Farbicology
Bonus Points:
Project Name: BOO! Haunted House Hoop
Project Link:
Brief Description: This is for the Halloween in June Swap.  I went with the purple mosaic-like background because it reminded me of a dark stormy night (in an abstract sort of way).  The house is felt and I stitched it up based off of a picture I found.  Whenever I see a haunted house, I think of ghosts and when I think of ghosts I hear "BOOOOOOOOO!"
Project Picture:

Prompt:  July- photogenic
Team: Randomizer
Event: Fabricology
Bonus Points:
Project Name: Tia the Chicken Hunter
Project Link:
Brief Description: This was for the Craft my Pet Swap.  I took the photo of Tia, taped it to the window, taped the fabric over top and began to trace and color.  Then I put it in the hoop and added the I love chicken.

I received from alittlemusthave today!  Oh I love it all.  She absolutely captured Sherman perfectly!

If you notice these the items look alike but one of them is the real thing.  It's hard to figure out which one as they all look like him!

Painting of Sherman his name was chosen because I saw a street sign I had never seen before on the way home from adopting him so I figured it was fate that his name must be Sherman!

An awesome freestyle machine embroidered fibre art likeness of Sherman!

I am so in love!  Thanks so much.  They are already on the walls!

Those bunnies are adorable!  I love the idea of abandoned art.  I did it on a recent road trip and left an email on the back.  Out of seven pieces, one person wrote a thank you.  It was not necessary but nice.  I love being able to brighten another's day

Project Name: Power Ranger Box
Project Link:
Brief Description: In the TV/Movie Swap, my partner listed Power Rangers as a favorite.  Well, I found this ribbon I had in my stash that I bought ages ago.  I had no plan for the ribbon when I bought it but I thought it was cute.  SO I pulled it out, added it to the cardboard box lid, painted the sides the different colors of the power rangers, and printed out the logo and pasted it on.

Project Name: Name magnets
Project Link:
Brief Description: My nephew graduated from pre-school and as a requirement, they had to spell their name at the ceremony.  I made him these magnetic letters of his name and painted tiny little objects that start with the corresponding letter. He was so excited to get his name and he was able to recognize all the items on his letters.

Project Name: A Heart to Hold
Project Link: http://ahearttohold.com/ this is a link to the organization
Brief Description: A Heart to Hold is an organization that sends weighted hearts to families that have recently lost a child (early pregnancy loss, stillborn, infant loss).  They are weighted to the weight of the child when it was born from .75 ounces up to 15 pounds.  A few friends of mine, who have been through loss as well, and I got together last week and cut out 41 hearts in small, medium and extra large.  Then we stitched them up based on their guidelines and left unturned and unstuffed as they instructed.  Just a bit of knowledge about loss:  There are about 4.4 million confirmed pregnancies in the U.S. every year.  900,000 to 1 million of those end in pregnancy losses EVERY year.  It's not a comforting subject but it is something near to my heart and I love the fact that I am able to help in the comfort of another family (41 other families to be exact!).

Prompt:  June Best things in life
Team: Randomizer
Event: Foodology
Bonus Points:
Project Name: Mint Nutella Ice Cream
Project Link:
Brief Description: My husband lost his job December 2012 and I am the only one working in the household.  We have received a few boxes of food since he lost his job and in one of those boxes we got coconut milk.  I did not know what to make out of it for a long time.  Yesterday, I got the urge to make ice cream so I looked up some recipes.  Found a few with coconut milk and decided to tweak the recipes a bit and mixed this up.  It is with coconut milk, coffee creamer, sweetened condensed milk, mint extract and nutella.  I mixed it, put it in the freezer and let it harden up.  It is very tasty, has a bit of a strange consistency but it pretty much tastes like ice cream.

10  Pete the Cat doll in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by crazyda79 on: June 24, 2014 11:22:53 PM
In our classroom, we read Pete the Cat books everyday.  The kids LOVE him so I decided to make a doll so he can act out the story instead of us just reading it.  Pete comes complete with a backpack that carries all of his accessories that correspond with each story we read.  He has his favorite shirt with 4 groovy buttons, white shoes, red shoes, blue shoes, brown shoes, water drops, and magic sunglasses.  He even has a belly button. All is made of felt and hand-sewn.  I bet he will be a big hit in the classroom because "it's all good!"
