Amazing!  This is not what I expected to see at all, I'm pleasantly suprised.  Grin

This does look really great, I'm so envious of your skills with the plarn.  I love working with plarn, I wish people made more colors of plastic bags though, like the blue ones walmart had way back in the day.

Congatulations on your first project post. It looks great! I've been meaning to do this out of some t-shirts I've got laying all over my house, but keep getting sidetracked by other projects  Undecided

I was actually going to suggest using plarn, since it's free, recycly, and durable, but since you specifically said no plarn I would go with the nylon chord suggested.
I love to make grocery bags out of grocery bags, it just feels right lol.
55  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Bottle Caps / Snapple Caps / Etc. on: September 30, 2008 07:22:49 AM
I know there have already been so many ideas. I didn't go through them all cause I'm at work...sorry if something similar has already been stated but here goes.
I was at a ladies house who had lots and lots of doilies and similar lacework around her house, but her most intresting thing was a wall hanging that was made out of bottlecaps that were covered with crocheted embriodery floss and bunched together like grapes, they had little crocheted leaves on top too.
It was pretty cute and I haven't seen anything like it anywhere else.
Hope that gives you an idea Smiley
56  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: HELP! Fancy yarns will kill me! on: September 26, 2008 01:57:22 PM
I'm having a really similar problem myself, but my problem is, what exactly do I make out of this stuff?!
I love love love the homespun for hats and scarves, but I've only got three skeins of it...
I have three bathtub sized bins of novelty yarns (verigated chunky stuff, fuzzy lightwieght stuff, stuff with ribbons sticking out of it, glittery stuff)
I don't have more than 4 skeins per color and type, and I've got NO idea what to do with it.
As for working with it, I would have to agree with everyone else on using larger hooks with not a whole lot of tension.
