1  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: The Official Fragrance Oil & Essential Oil Thread! on: September 13, 2011 12:35:49 PM
Reading through this and making wishlists!  I've wanted black pepper EO for so long, but it is so expensive... sigh.  Maybe someday.

I know it's the season to start thinking about pumpkin and cinnamon, but I went through my FOs yesterday and am absolutely dying over yuzu and cucumber mint.  Think I might go whip up a batch of summer later, season bedamned!

What are y'all sniffing these days?

black pepper is gorgeous, i use it occasionally in perfume and nothing else quite hits the right mark. so i would personally say if you can spare the money, it's worth it.

what am i sniffing? this week (actually, this month) i've been playing with cannabis flower essential oil, it's incredible! so very sad that it's not allowed to be sold outside of europe, all of you americans are missing out there!
2  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: sugar scrub assistance on: September 13, 2011 12:23:35 PM
i know this is a late response, but i recently tried out a recipe for sugar scrub cubes, the tutorial is here: http://www.soapdelinews.com/2011/07/solid-shea-butter-sugar-scrub-cube.html

they were incredible! so much better than any other recipe i've tried (and i've tried a LOT) so i highly reccomend it Smiley
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: craft question? After you finish projects do you use what you make? on: September 13, 2011 12:14:09 PM
i don't think i personally own a single thing that i've made... is that weird? the nice thing about crafts is that they can always find a good home somewhere with someone that will appreciate them.
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Looking for "manly" crafting projects on: September 13, 2011 12:12:15 PM
leatherwork is a good one for guys. my boy's recently gotten into making wristcuffs and such, the materials are pretty easy to get hold of Smiley
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: No! I won't make/fix/sew/knit your....!! on: September 13, 2011 11:50:53 AM
i've just sat and read this enire thread. my god i hear you all. i'm not all that wonderful at sewing, i can just handle the basics and simple projects, and it bothers me to no end how many people ask (or even demand) that you re-size their curtains/hem their trousers/make their halloween costume etc. without a moment's consideration for how long that will take or cost. i loathe resizing curtains. buy the right size curtains in the first place, dammit.

i have to say though, it bothers me a LOT more when people ask me to fix their computers.

personally, i'd just go with the snark. they've totally earned it.
