1  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / My party for my newest Scent. PIC Heavy on: October 25, 2009 08:00:15 AM
OK so any exuse for a party is a good one right.. while I have been (which some of you know) in the whole Twilight inspired scent kick lately. Well with new moon coming out I just had to have a  New Moon inspired scent. This is why I came up with Exist. Ok so back ground on the name.. in New moon the word/idea exist comes up alot, the wolves exist because vampires do, Bella exists to love Edward and visvera, they try to exist with out eachother and it doesnt work because they are each others reason to exist etc.... ok so now the scent description....

No one ever said that love was easy, once you find that one that becomes your reason to exist life is never the same again. Inspired by the love, heartache and fight for that reason to exist in New Moon Live Love Bath has created a new scent to captivate all that emotion. The scent starts off with notes of decadent comfort food like dark chocolate and crme caramel. A note of fresh raspberry is added because the symbolism of the raspberry is thought to represent grief and regret. The scent is then rounded out with the truly romantic and sensual note of pure amber. It is sure to be a must have scent.

2  COOKING / Dessert / Twilight Cake on: August 27, 2009 12:44:06 PM
Ok here is the Twilight Cake I made for a little friend of mine.. its her 10th birthday tomorrow and she found this cake online that she wanted..
I know this cake is kind of all over the interent but I am happy with how mine turned out.. we used the wedding cake stands (yah I am not even going to pretent to know what they are called) to gain height and to show the layers better.. um that ran into issues on the checker board layer.. so I did the top and the sides seperate checkerboards... there is another side that looks a bit better but of course I didnt check for that when taking a pic... anyways heres the cake!!!

PS Black icing SUCKS!!!!! lol but we got close.

OK so my friend's little girls birthday is coming up soon and all three of us (My friend, her daughter and me) are all huge Twilight fans so the theme was clear... so I went to work to help them create a fab party with all kinds of custom crafty godness!!!! This thread will show what we did, I will put up more as I get the photos!

First some background info: A friend of mine hosted a 'Launch party' for my new Twilight inspried scents and she did such a great job (well she is a party planner after all) that it got me thinking.... so after hours of searching the net, photoshoping and the like here is what we came up with... if you are interested in more info on links or photos etc let me know and I can see what I can dig out of my notes for you.

Up first the Invite photoshoped and paint layers (with private info blocked of course) inspired by some things we found when searching:

4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Twilight Inspired Airfresheners on: August 11, 2009 08:45:06 AM
Ok so not only have I been playing with bath products inspired by the novels but now the scents have me sooo hooked that I want my home/car to smell like them too.
Here is what I have come up with... aroma ornie apples of course

And some red apple wax melts in both my forbitten twilight scent and my newest obsession Bella scent.

Who else out there makes aroma ornies? or wax melts for that matter? what are your favorite scents to make? My favorites are apple cin cause its strong in the ornies and also peppermint cause I do clear snowflakes for Christmas with that scent and the oil doesnt go yellow!
5  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Help Naming "Twilight" Inspired lip balm on: July 17, 2009 03:37:10 PM
OK here we go! My Twilight scents and products have been such a huge hit that I have to add a lip balm.. I am going to do a three layer later (apple, Icey Pepermint, and strawberry) but right now I am working on a Icey peppermint /vanilla lip balm and I am stuck for a name.

Here is abit about it:

-Its a icy flavor that will leave your lips tingling and cool, like a Cullen Kiss would lol
-it has a hint of sparkle in the tub but not as much on the lips as its suposed to be just an everyday type lip balm
-it will come in a black tub with a label that is mostly black with a white Cullen Crest and text...

BUT it needs a name!!! I am just not happy with my train of thought right now and thought that I would reach out for you all to help! If I choose your name you will even get a free lip balm shipped to your door hows that for motivation!

Help me out Twilighters!!!!
6  COOKING / Dessert / MMM Funnel Cake!!!! on: July 16, 2009 05:26:59 AM
Ok so one of my favorite parts about summer when I was younger was going to Wonderland to ride the rides and get funnel cakes.
A friend had went and put a pic of one on FB which kept showing up in my news feed and I just HAD to make some!

Here is the recipie I used, it was taken from a mix of online ones I found:
This will make 5 salad plate sized Funnel Cakes, and my trick is to use a blender for mixing it all up.

Ingredients:
2 eggs (one whole and one the whites only)

1 and 1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder

Steps:
Prep: Pour 2 inches of veg. oil into a large fry pan and heat on med heat to about 375. Test by spooning  a bit of batter in and if it floats to the top and starts to sizzle your good to go!

1. Put eggs and sugar into blender and mix
2. Add the milk and mix
3. Add all dry ingredients and mix until batter is creamy. If it seems lumpy at all add a bit more milk.
4. Pour 1/2 cup of the batter into the hot oil though a funnel, moving it around as you pour.
5. Cook until the bottom is golden then carefully flip and cook until the other side is also golden.
6. Take out of pan and allow to cool on paper towel slightly.
7. Top with your fav. fruit, icecream, whip cream, or icing sugar (hint here is too let the cake cool quite a bit so the sugar wont melt into it.) or any combo.
8. ENJOY!!!

7  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Neopolitian Lip Balm on: June 02, 2009 08:10:19 AM
Ah summer is coming if it feels like it or not lol. I have been working on some summer/soda shop inspired items and right now this is my fav!

Yummy Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry lip balm all in one tube! I always get board of flavors before I finish a tube (the draw backs of making it I supose I am always wanting the newest flavor lol) so this one forces me to finish!
I am sure many people have done this before but it was just so fun and yummy I couldnt resist!

I also made some cream soda and root beer ones (seperate)... I am thinking of going back and layering some of them as well and maybe adding a lemon lime to that mix... humm.... that could be yummy!!!

Thanks for looking!!
8  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / The Cullens have bitten my bath products on: June 02, 2009 08:06:58 AM
OK so I have been sucked into the world of the wonderful Twilight series. Books.. movie etc... I just love it. Anyways so as most things that I love do... it eventually found it self in my bath and body products. This is the first (I plan to at least do a Bella Scent) after reading the books and seeing all the mentions of smell and scent I just had to make a scent that smelled like the Cullens.

So here is my discription it will tell you what scents are mixed in there:

Slip away into a world of romance, passion and fantasy with this captivating scent inspired by the well known novels. This scent begins with notes of sweet berries, tart oranges. Hints of cinnamon, fresh blooming roses and woodsy musk are added and it is finally lightly kissed with romantic amber and just a touch of sparkle.  Now you can smell like your favorite Cullen.

The lotion that is pictured here is my omega 3 lotion but I added the Forbitten Twilight scent and some cosmetic sparkles (just a hint), it was so fun that I am planing a batch of sugar scrub and tub jelly beans later today!

Thanks for looking!!!
9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Tiny shoes for Tink on: March 27, 2009 01:43:35 PM
OK so my DD will be one in about 3 weeks and she has the smallest feet imaginable.. she has a whole shelf of shoes (hand me downs and gifts from when she was first born) that she can not wear... So what could I do but make shoes... these are adapted from the stardust shoe pattern that can be found free online.. with a few addaptions to make them fit my wee one a bit better. These are a size 0-3 month lol gosh TINY feet for my little "Tink".

These are made with flannelette outside... some brown fuzzy stuff in my stash, and then some brown cord cut from some maternaty pants that I bought for like $2 that I ended up never wearing cause I hated them.. no wonder I scored them for $2 at burlington coat lol....

I hope you enjoy them. I was going to put something on the toes but I might leave this pair since the flowers match so well lol.. totally unplanned I cut the same part of the fabric for both toes lol... I have another pair cut and ready to sew that I want to give her for Easter.. they are rose and I think they will be home to a bunny or two on the toes lol... anyways enjoy the pics ... C&C and tips welcome!!!
