11  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Twilight Inspired Airfresheners on: August 11, 2009 08:45:06 AM
Ok so not only have I been playing with bath products inspired by the novels but now the scents have me sooo hooked that I want my home/car to smell like them too.
Here is what I have come up with... aroma ornie apples of course

And some red apple wax melts in both my forbitten twilight scent and my newest obsession Bella scent.

Who else out there makes aroma ornies? or wax melts for that matter? what are your favorite scents to make? My favorites are apple cin cause its strong in the ornies and also peppermint cause I do clear snowflakes for Christmas with that scent and the oil doesnt go yellow!
12  COOKING / Dessert / Re: MMM Funnel Cake!!!! on: July 21, 2009 05:21:01 AM
OH yes I forgot to mention that.. I dont use a funnel either casue it was messier, I did the ziploc bag thing with cutting off the corner but that was messy too.. I just pour from my measuring cup or the blender as well. I find it best to use the measuring cup casuse they all turn out about even in size, I made these again in a double batch (which is slightly different then the recipe given below if anyone wants it let me know I got 12 and a toddler size one out of it) for my DH's bday party and toped with Icecream, warmed up (to the point of melted) homemade jam, and cut strawberries.. oh and dont forget the powdered sugar... I am going to do peach next time I think... canned peaches work well cause the 'juice' is another great topping lol!
I am glad to have shared something that people are enjoying!

you should be fine to just dye it blonde... I dont know why they told you to go back brown before dying it pink if you do that you wont get pink as you said..
I was told to strip my brown hair blonde before adding the pink

the only thing is you will have to wash your pink and blonde hair seperatly casuse the semi perm. pink dye can and WILL bleed into your blonde hair... thats what got me to go with some clip in extentions cuase a a mommy to two young kids I just couldnt deal with the whole having to wash my hair twice... I hope this helps some post pics if you do it.. I can live through you lol
14  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Help Naming "Twilight" Inspired lip balm on: July 17, 2009 03:37:10 PM
OK here we go! My Twilight scents and products have been such a huge hit that I have to add a lip balm.. I am going to do a three layer later (apple, Icey Pepermint, and strawberry) but right now I am working on a Icey peppermint /vanilla lip balm and I am stuck for a name.

Here is abit about it:

-Its a icy flavor that will leave your lips tingling and cool, like a Cullen Kiss would lol
-it has a hint of sparkle in the tub but not as much on the lips as its suposed to be just an everyday type lip balm
-it will come in a black tub with a label that is mostly black with a white Cullen Crest and text...

BUT it needs a name!!! I am just not happy with my train of thought right now and thought that I would reach out for you all to help! If I choose your name you will even get a free lip balm shipped to your door hows that for motivation!

Help me out Twilighters!!!!
15  COOKING / Dessert / MMM Funnel Cake!!!! on: July 16, 2009 05:26:59 AM
Ok so one of my favorite parts about summer when I was younger was going to Wonderland to ride the rides and get funnel cakes.
A friend had went and put a pic of one on FB which kept showing up in my news feed and I just HAD to make some!

Here is the recipie I used, it was taken from a mix of online ones I found:
This will make 5 salad plate sized Funnel Cakes, and my trick is to use a blender for mixing it all up.

Ingredients:
2 eggs (one whole and one the whites only)

1 and 1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder

Steps:
Prep: Pour 2 inches of veg. oil into a large fry pan and heat on med heat to about 375. Test by spooning  a bit of batter in and if it floats to the top and starts to sizzle your good to go!

1. Put eggs and sugar into blender and mix
2. Add the milk and mix
3. Add all dry ingredients and mix until batter is creamy. If it seems lumpy at all add a bit more milk.
4. Pour 1/2 cup of the batter into the hot oil though a funnel, moving it around as you pour.
5. Cook until the bottom is golden then carefully flip and cook until the other side is also golden.
6. Take out of pan and allow to cool on paper towel slightly.
7. Top with your fav. fruit, icecream, whip cream, or icing sugar (hint here is too let the cake cool quite a bit so the sugar wont melt into it.) or any combo.
8. ENJOY!!!

19  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Neopolitian Lip Balm on: June 02, 2009 08:10:19 AM
Ah summer is coming if it feels like it or not lol. I have been working on some summer/soda shop inspired items and right now this is my fav!

Yummy Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry lip balm all in one tube! I always get board of flavors before I finish a tube (the draw backs of making it I supose I am always wanting the newest flavor lol) so this one forces me to finish!
I am sure many people have done this before but it was just so fun and yummy I couldnt resist!

I also made some cream soda and root beer ones (seperate)... I am thinking of going back and layering some of them as well and maybe adding a lemon lime to that mix... humm.... that could be yummy!!!

Thanks for looking!!
20  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / The Cullens have bitten my bath products on: June 02, 2009 08:06:58 AM
OK so I have been sucked into the world of the wonderful Twilight series. Books.. movie etc... I just love it. Anyways so as most things that I love do... it eventually found it self in my bath and body products. This is the first (I plan to at least do a Bella Scent) after reading the books and seeing all the mentions of smell and scent I just had to make a scent that smelled like the Cullens.

So here is my discription it will tell you what scents are mixed in there:

Slip away into a world of romance, passion and fantasy with this captivating scent inspired by the well known novels. This scent begins with notes of sweet berries, tart oranges. Hints of cinnamon, fresh blooming roses and woodsy musk are added and it is finally lightly kissed with romantic amber and just a touch of sparkle.  Now you can smell like your favorite Cullen.

The lotion that is pictured here is my omega 3 lotion but I added the Forbitten Twilight scent and some cosmetic sparkles (just a hint), it was so fun that I am planing a batch of sugar scrub and tub jelly beans later today!

Thanks for looking!!!
