52  french beaded zodiac flowers + christmas tree in Beads: Completed Projects by beadedbyamy on: November 19, 2008 06:02:02 PM
My first craft show is next month, and I've made a lot of french beaded charms and little things, but I started missing doing actual flowers. I'm trying to keep everything small and affordable, but still uniquely me, so I decided to make a series of mini potted flowers, one for each of the zodiac signs. Here's what I've made so far:

Taurus: light blue violets, 3 1/2 inches tall

Aries: rich red tulip, 5 in. tall

Libra: bright pink (it's brighter than the picture looks) cyclamen, 5 in tall

I also made one tiny christmas tree. It took forever to make, so I don't think it's worth it to make another. I'm thinking about making a little tree skirt because I'm not in love with the pot. It's 4 inches tall and much prettier than the picture shows. It's made with silver lined green beads, so it's extra sparkly and festive.

What do you think? I do intend to make flowers for the rest of the zodiac signs, so keep an eye out for those! I'll post again when I've made at least 3 more.

Ninjanator, I thought it was a fair trade. Tongue However, if you'd like to send me something else, I won't argue with you! I'm wearing your necklace right now. It's so gorgeous and I love it!

Here's another shot of my snitch pendant:

54  French Beaded Purple Pendant in Beads: Completed Projects by beadedbyamy on: November 01, 2008 08:28:13 PM
I wanted to make a tutorial for you guys. I really did. I had a design in mind that I thought would work perfectly. It was going well... but then... then suddenly the flower took over and designed itself. This is totally not what I was planning on making, but I love it. So where's the tutorial? Well, I intended to make it. I even started typing it up. However, after an hour of typing and uploading pictures and I was only about half done, I decided that maybe this wasn't the best piece for a tutorial. I still intend to make a tutorial one day. Tongue

This pendant is made with 15/0 Silver lined lilac seed beads (I was desperate to use these beauties!) and 15/0 silver-lined green beads. I also used a swarovski crystal and some various other pretty beads for the drop. What do you think?

55  Beaded Golden Snitch! in Beads: Completed Projects by beadedbyamy on: October 27, 2008 06:36:16 PM
Using french flower beading techniques, I created this awesome snitch charm! It's 3 inches long. The center is made with 24kt gold plated seed beads and the wings are made with translucent glass seed beads plus one swarovski crystal in each wing. The center is 3-d. I'm pretty pleased with it!

56  French beaded flower jewelry set! in Beads: Completed Projects by beadedbyamy on: October 25, 2008 03:31:17 PM
I created these for a personal swap with paulinerose:

The set includes (clockwise from left) a pendant, a ring, and a barrette. She wanted pink roses, but also commented that she liked one of my pieces that was all neutral colors, so I decided to make the pink more "grown-up" and less "Barbie" by mixing red-lined topaz seed beads (pink) with dark topaz seed beads, topaz swarovski crystals, and other various topaz or brown beads. I really hope she likes them! I hadn't ever made a barrette like this, so it was definitely a challenge.

57  Winter Weeping Willow in Beads: Completed Projects by beadedbyamy on: October 02, 2008 09:48:53 AM
This is a weeping willow tree that I made from silver floral wire and some pretty iridescent glass tear drop beads. It's attached to a rock that I got at my local aquarium store. The person there called it "Utah Ice" but I have no idea if that's the actual name! I'd love to hear your comments and critiques! Smiley

58  French Beaded Flower Headbands in Beads: Completed Projects by beadedbyamy on: September 26, 2008 06:08:24 AM
Hi everybody,
I'm brand spanking new to the site, but I'm really excited about it. I do french beaded flowers and will be doing my first craft show in a few months. I'm trying out some new stuff and would love some feedback. These are headbands with french beaded flowers (and various other little things) wrapped in some pretty ribbon. What do you think?

Let me know if this is the wrong forum or something. Would french beaded flowers go in "jewelry and trinkets?" Thanks!
