I like this idea!!

I'd totally be punching holes in the short sides and jump ringing them together, beaded door curtain style!!
22  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Lucky Clover Shrug on: January 24, 2009 10:35:51 PM
i was hoping and praying that this would be a crochet thing that i could wing and copy for myself!!
Not so!!! Dang!!

I love it tho!

as for closure, how holey is the fabric? you could make a little cuff link thing with two buttons if you think fabric can take it... just knit a 1 inch by half inch rectangle and sew the buttons to it and pop thru!

so cute!

28  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Re: Not my garden... OUR garden! (massive post w/ tonnes of leafy green veggie pics) on: January 08, 2009 02:28:20 PM
So we've got a working bee this weekend, i'll be taking more pics and posting them up too... you should see our corn... it's HUGE!!
What a great idea!  I plan on having a garden in my front yard next year, keeping in mind that it may get raided my neighbor kids.  But if that's what gets them eating fresh food, or interested in garden, it's worth it.  Have you tried any "guerilla gardening"?  I have planted a few veggies in public places before and my brother makes a habit of planting fruit trees in public spots, so eventually the community will have some free food.  I just came across the group "Fallen Fruit" which maps all of the publicly accesible fruit trees in Los Angeles.
Everything looks so delicious!!

No guerilla gardening yet... soon, my friend, soon!

Oh, that looks so wonderful and fluffy. Cheesy Nice extras as well.

(My partner received a week ago and still hasn't posted pictures. I might have to resort to nagging. Tongue )

It really was the nicest package ever!!

It's taken me forever to post pics too!!
There's just not enough time over the Dec/Jan period!!

I said i'd post twice, because Scotskipper doesn't have a camera handy very often...
So, you get to see my ugly mug in 2 different cowls... LUCKY!!

This is what i sent from Australia all the way to America...
(keep in mind my package wasn't quite as packed full of goodies as the one she sent me) Tongue

This is the Ocean inspired cowl...

The buttons are made of shell, and fasten like a cufflink, or, 'cowl-link' as my man refers to them!

I wanted to send things that are made in Aus, particularly the state i'm from, so,
I sent a couple of bars of delicious soap (i'm so lucky i have a friend that makes such gorgeous soaps), one that was also made with local honey and bees wax.
A candle that was scented like the area i grew up in (sounds strange, but wine growing regions do have a distinct scent, especially at harvest...)
And a selection of locally made jams, also from an area i grew up in...

Last but not least the local chocolate covered dried apricot and peach delicacy FruChos... YUM!!

I have it on good authority that the aroma of the whole package was delicious and she couldn't wait to get into it!!
