1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Another one that took me nearly a year: handstitched quilt on: January 17, 2015 07:03:40 PM
I just finished this king size quilt.  It is completely hand stitched and hand quilted.  I even sewed the binding on by hand.
It was a simple pattern I made up using mostly charms packs and a jelly roll.  It took me nearly a year because I would get tired of it and put it up for a little while.  It makes me happy!

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / A Stroller Quilt for my neighbor on: August 27, 2014 09:30:26 AM
When we moved into our home 17 years ago, our neighbors little girl was seven.  She is now married with a baby arriving soon.  It's a little boy and of course they are so excited and having fun decorating the nursery.  Their theme is whales, so I decided to make a little quilt with whales she can use in the stroller.  It is also the perfect size for the car seat.  It's my own design I made with fabrics from JoAnn's.  I really love the way it turned out.  It is hand quilted and I really do love the waves I sewed around the whales.

3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / The one I didn't want to give away on: May 06, 2014 08:35:30 PM
I love to make quilts.  And I give a lot of them away.  But this last quilt was the toughest of all to give up.  My granddaughter, Julianne asked me to make her a quilt.  She is a girly girl so she needed a feminine quilt.  I think the fabrics give it the femininity it needed.  It is Pam Kitty by Lakehouse.  I used a simple hourglass pattern.  I hand quilted it with perle cotton and added rickrack to the binding.  I just think this quilt is so sweet, I hated to part with it.  But I think the look on Julianne's face makes it all worth it.

4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / A Quilt for Allie on: December 17, 2013 06:45:24 PM
Allie is my three year old granddaughter.  She is a spunky little thing with a squeaky voice.  I decided she needed a quilt to snuggle up with.  So I created this one.  I made it with fabric I got at JoAnn's.  And backed it with flannel for extra warm cuddling.  She really liked it.  Especially, the flower.

I wish I had made her name in a little darker pink so it would show up better.
5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Little Quiltie I made for a swap on: February 17, 2013 11:56:20 AM
I made this mini for a swap I was in on Flickr.  It is completely hand sewn, from the piecing to the quilting to the border.  I enjoy hand sewing so much.  And for a small project like this, it is very doable.  Fingers crossed my partner likes it.

6  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Does anyone know what quilt pattern this is? on: January 29, 2013 07:03:14 PM
7  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Sweet new baby quilt on: January 21, 2013 04:57:59 PM
I just finished this baby quilt today.  I put it in the wash and it came out so delicious.  It was so quick and easy to make.  All I did was sandwich the backing, batting and front using spray adhesive.  Then I added the the mini charm pack of marmalade and stitched them down through all the layers.  When I finished doing all that all I had to do was bind it.

8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / An Unclaimed Baby Quilt on: October 07, 2012 12:33:04 PM
After making a lap size quilt and a doll quilt from a jelly roll, I had enough leftover fabric to make a baby quilt.  I had no one in mind when I made this quilt, but I'm sure there will be a new baby girl in the near future to claim this quilt.  I added the rickrack to the edge to give it a little character.  Each line of the quilt is hand quilted.  It came out of the wash nice and crinkly.

9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Yo Yo and Rick Rack Baby Quilt on: April 01, 2012 06:25:47 PM

My daughter is expecting a baby girl in August.  Of course she needs a new baby quilt.  I came up with this design because I love yoyo's and I love rick rack.  I love the combination of the two, but more importantly, she loves it.
10  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Doll Quilt for a Swap on: April 01, 2012 05:15:25 PM
I made this little quilt for a swap.  It was a little hard to part with but my partner loves it.  The teeniest block is 3/4 of an inch.  It was so much fun to make.
