561  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / scrap of beauty afghan for new baby on: November 22, 2008 10:45:39 AM
I am expecting a new grandbaby and want to make an afghan.  I remember many years ago making a scraps of beauty afghan and can't locate the pattern.  Does anyone have the pattern they can pass on to me?
562  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Lap Quilts For All Swap: Round 4 Gallery on: November 18, 2008 05:30:27 PM
This is my spot!   Cheesy

These are my fabrics. There's a grandbaby on the way and I thought this would be a great opportunity to make a special quilt for the new baby.

My Monday update - sent all my fabric out today. BTW, it cost $15.85.  I received fabric from whoopdedo, KRB and Laural.

One trick I thought of, was to take a picture of the fabric and the address label as I receive it, so I don't get it confused with someone elses.

I made this sample block of my fabrics to test it for blocks for others.  Problem is, it took me two days to do it so I think it is the only one like this I'll make, although, I love the way it turned out.
Rita, I love your block you made for yourself.  Perfect for the theme of your fabrics!

Laural, I love the block you made for me. Perfect!  Smiley

KRB, this is your block.  When I saw your fabric, for some reason, I thought of butterflies.  I hope you don't mind the scraps I added from my stash.  Hope you love it as much as I do!

Here's your block Whoopdedo.  It's called Kentucky Bluegrass.  Hope you like it!

This is your block, Laurel. As simple as it looks, it was confusing keeping the colors straight. It's called Star Shadow. Hope you like it.

Here's your block Ritapizza.  I kind of let the fabric tell me what to do. Hope it fits with your theme!

I made this block for GordonGirl but it turned out to be only 12" square, so I'll be making a different one. Sorry it turned out short, hope you can use it for something!

GordonGirl, here's the other block I made for you. It is 12 1/2".

a block for glittergirl

Here's a flower I made for Southern Flower

Here's one for Klum

My last block for Chinarockfish

565  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Need Help with fabric decisions PLEASE on: November 17, 2008 02:50:37 PM
I like all your fabrics and I think they will work great for a little boy.  The only piece I might question is the brown with the large white print only because I wonder about the scale as compared to the other prints you have selected.  Hope this helps.
566  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / need help binding a grandmother's flower garden quilt on: November 16, 2008 09:05:33 AM
Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to bind the grandmother's flower garden quilt?  Seems like if I bind around each flower it will take forever.  I have finished all the quilting and am ready to start on the binding.  BTW, I pieced and quilted this king size quilt completely by hand. (What was I thinking?)

Beautiful quit!  You might take several squares from your remaining fabric and sew them in strips of two or three rows and add it to a couple of coordinating pillow cases.  Hope this helps.
