Here's the pattern and a link to the scarf:

CO - 20 stitches

knit 8 turn
knit 8 back
knit 6 turn
knit 6 back
knit 4 turn
knit 4 back
knit 20

Start over to desired length, bind off

What does knit 8 back mean?  I'm guessing knit the stitches in the back.   
Should I wrap and turn?  (The pattern says easy, oh well)

I would mark them as spam or ignore the emails like the ones that read:

Dear Madam

$1,000,000 lottery winnings just send all your personal information.

I agree it's beyond ridiculous.  You would think everybody that makes an item or a pattern is Einstein. 

I just make what I want inspired by what I see and keep it moving.  It's not a cure for cancer it's crafting!

I say sell it if you want. They do it on Etsy and the bead pattern sites and selling vintage patterns all the time and claim ownership, originality, blah, blah, blah all over the place.
