2  Asian...ish painted vans in Shoes: Completed Projects by mint_bijoux on: September 23, 2008 04:11:31 PM
I posted this on here a few days ago, but for some reason I accidentally put it under questions... sorry about that.

A friend of mine is really into japanese street fashion. A local fashion zine was doing an article about her, and she asked me to paint a pair of shoes for her to wear to be featured in the zine with her. She asked me to incorporate the rising sun symbol, japanese symbol for "love", and red, black, and gold into them. I didn't take a picture of the inner sides, but I put some more japanese symbols around the heel. She gave me a pair of her old hi-top vans, which looked like this but the black toe/tongue part was a light grey color:

Soo, here's what I came up with:

Excuse my crappy phone pictures. The parts I painted black were suede, so they look shiny-ish from the paint and varnish in these pics. They were blurry when I sent them to my comp so I tried to sharpen them, but they just look more ghetto. hahaha.

4  Jerry Sailor inspired chucks in Shoes: Completed Projects by mint_bijoux on: September 20, 2008 10:51:49 PM
Hi! I'm new to this website. I've posted in one other forum website thing before, but i generally am really confused about them, so If I mess something up just try to bear with me.
I customize and sell shoes. This is a recent pair for a woman who asked for low top chucks with stars, skulls, flowers, and retro designs inspired by the Jerry Sailor designs.

These were done with acrylic paint mixed with medium, then varnished with a protective coat to seal from water, dirt, etc.
I'd love to hear what anyone thinks ;]

Much Loves.
