1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Cool Wine Bottle collection. HELP! on: September 02, 2011 03:34:40 PM
I propagated a spider plant in an old sake bottle:

It seems happy but it's only been there about a month.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / terrariums! on: September 02, 2011 03:25:58 PM
I haven't posted in forever because I was finishing school but now I have time yay! I've been making terrariums lately, and I wanted some feedback:

I hope you like it Smiley It's washed sand, moss, and a tillandisa. I want to try making more terrariums with succulents or other rooted plants, but I'm concerned about drainage. Also is it possible to grow succulents in just sand or should I mix with soil? Thanks for any and all feedback!

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Lattice Scarf (pattern added) on: October 15, 2008 10:11:45 AM
Sorry to pull up an old topic, but I finished this scarf last week.  I really love it, but I'm terrified to block it so it's still very curly.

The pictures are shanty, I just took them now in my dorm.  The colors are much more vibrant and diverse than the photos show. The yarn is handspun/dyed Mango Moon, it gives it a cool uneven texture so not all the lace gaps are equal.  My friends love it so I know what I'm doing for christmas now!  Thanks so much for the great pattern, it was my first lace project!
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: How many WIPs? on: October 13, 2008 05:58:22 PM
These don't have a deadline because they're getting donated but...
1.) Crocheted Flower Scarf (not enough flowers done yet, and then stitching)
2.) 2 Baby Booties that need to be stitched (almost done!!)
3.) matching baby hat
4.) Swirly crocheted baby hat

I just finished my first lace project.. I should post it here

So cute!  These look just like a pattern a friend gave me, except the top folded part is ribbed.  We're making a stash and sending them to Guatemala for our University's midwife/nursing program there!
