I don't have room for a real tree this year.  So I made a plush one.

Here is the plush tree.  The fabric I used has gingerbread motifs on it,because I love gingerbread.  For "lights" I used sequins and seed beads.  The tips have "Holly" made from sequin leafs and E beads.



Here is a detail of the Holly and lights.  Note I put a gold heart on a gingerbread boy.

As a congrats to New Orleans for their big win, here is a little painting I did.  It's watercolor and about the size of a postcard. 

I made the below little motifs for some hankies that were for use as favors in the SCA.  Enjoy!









Sorry that the pic images are not top notch.  I have fights with my camera. 

I got this idea form the beckoning cat/lucky cat/Maneki Neko my mom brought home form Japan.  He's real cute and waves.

I thought that a lucky charm challenge would be fun to do.  And not just the good luck charms, but bad luck could be added, too.  Seeing that a black cat is good luck for some, bad for others.

It would be a craft challenge for good vs. evil!

I choose for my entry the song, Greensleeves.  So I made green sleeves!  See!


The song is from 16th Cent. England.  At that time, sleeves were made so you could detach them from your outfit to change the look of the dress or clean them.  (Cleaning clothing at that time was a boar!)  I used an out of print Simplicity pattern and some green fabric I got for free.  I'm planing to attach the sleeves to outfits with pins.

Seeing that the song is about love gone bad.  I put a little hart on the cuff of each sleeve.

I finished my Sonic Screwdriver for my Halloween costume! 

Here it is!  It's a penlight base.  I used poly clay for the housing and the button from a cheep click pen.  Here it is lit up.

Hello all!

For my Halloween costume, I'm making a Sonic Screwdriver.  I'm going as Doctor Who (number Ten.)  I got a penlight with a clear LED light for the base.  I would like to have the blue dome that is on the end. 

What can I use for the blue part that would let the light come through?  It has to be cheep, look right, and fit over the end of a pen.
