21  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Beginners inchie swap gallery (send out by 16th Feb) on: January 24, 2011 06:29:47 AM
LimeRiot-- I rubbed each side a few times on an ink pad. My pad was a little on the dry side, so it didn't work quite as well as I'd hoped, but well enough.

I received today! deathchicken did a great job stalking me!

Hee, I'm glad you liked them! It was really fun to make cute versions of horror things. :-)

Oh no, I hope stoliedina is okay and that things get easier for her!

Lapoli-- Thanks! I made 30 cards, enough for all the people we send to!

kaz814-- Thanks! I actually hand-wrote all the "Merry Christmas"es and "Happy Hanukah"s, veeeeerry veeeerrrry carefully. It took a little while. >_<

Welp, I made three little things...

Three ornaments for my yule tree, to replace three others I got rid of last year that weren't to my taste. Apparently my taste is nerdy. I'm not overly happy with the block-- if I had to do it again, I'd stiffen the sides with some interfacing so they don't bow outwards like that, but oh well, better luck next time.

...and finished making a big thing.

All my holiday cards! My family celebrates Hanukah and my husband's celebrates Christmas, so I got to try making two designs. Then I added a third just because I'm a masochist.

Now to make three scarves, six rice handwarmers, six potholders, and come up with a bajillion other things...

Round 2 would be nice with more people in your groups, but I'm glad this one was just with 1-2 people...it was a nice easy way for me to try out a new craft and not break the bank! :-)

Aww, the Mr. and Mrs. series! How nice and nostalgic. :-)
Great job, How Lovely!

One of my goals this year is to make 75% of my holiday gifts for people, three new ornaments, and all holiday cards, and to do that, I need to start now. >_<

The ideas I have so far...

Brother - Scarf
Male cousin - Scarf (very creative)
Female cousin - Scarf (hey, if it works twice...)
Miscellaneous family members - spiced nuts, patchwork potholder (at least six), rice handwarmers (at least six)
Parents - possibly a small quilt?

For my in-laws, aunt and uncle, and husband, I've no clue. Alas!

I've already made half my cards, and the other half will be done as soon as I can get to Michael's and get some blue cardstock and sticky paper tabs. Will post a picture when they're finished! :-)

LimeRiot-- LOVE your space. I only wish mine was so organized!

However, in cleaning it all up, I located stamps I did not know I had left. Ergo, I sent mine out today! Hooray! What a fun, quick, and cheap swap! Good for the soul and for the budget. There needs to be more of these.  Grin

Well, I'm done with my inchies! I made a few extra just for kicks, because they're so easy to make. Now I've got to figure out some way of taking a good picture of them (on one or two of them the light has to be juuuust right)....

Anyway, will probably be mailing out Thursday or Friday, as that's the first chance I'll have to get to the post office!

Goodness gracious, and I thought I was coming along quickly because I'm done with four inchies already! Ah well. :-)

This is fun!
