1  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Faux Crow Taxidermy on: September 29, 2011 04:57:40 PM
When I stumbled upon this tutorial http://dollarstorecrafts.com/2010/10/make-creepy-crow-faux-taxidermy/, I  knew I wanted to make my own version.

I love the finished product and am thinking this is staying out all year.  Maybe I'll even add a Santa hat at Christmas;)
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / My Sweet Scarecrow on: October 16, 2009 04:30:10 PM
Today was "Scarecrow Day" at my daughters school.  Not wanting to buy anything for her to wear, I got crafty!  I crocheted her hat by modifying a sunhat pattern and glued a crow and some leaves on it.  Aside from adding some patches to her shirt and jeans I replaced the bottoms of old jeans with some scrap fabric.  Then I tied some raffia to her belt loops.  I think she made a pretty cute and creative scarecrow!  She was a hit at school.  The crow really made the whole costume Grin

I wish I could have gotten a better pic, but we had a noreaster coming by this morning.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / I love when clothes don't fit! on: July 21, 2009 09:42:56 AM
While digging in my closet I found a store bought top that never really fit my bust or HUGE arms & a black skirt that was waaaaaay to long and large in the waist.  After combining the bottom half of the top and the waistband of the skirt, I think I came up with a really cute "new" wearable top Smiley  YEAH!

6  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Corset Belt from the Happy Hooker on: June 13, 2009 07:21:05 PM
As soon as I saw this pattern I had to buy The Happy Hooker book.  I love how it turned out.  (It is not really uneven on the top...I just didn't arrange it very nicely.)  I hope tol add an action shot when I have someone to snap a pic Smiley

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Roses for Teacher Gifts on: June 13, 2009 07:16:55 PM
Here are some roses I have been making for teacher gifts.    I gave each teacher more than two...these were the only ones I had left.  Our local dollar store carries mini vases & the roses look adorable in them.  I used this pattern.:  http://www.planetjune.com/blog/free-crochet-patterns/basic-rose/ She has some really wonderful patterns on her site!

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Rainy Day Rasterbation.... on: April 15, 2009 09:30:28 AM
OK...

I just painted my girls' room & now it is time to decorate.  I created a large poster of one of my daughters and will soon do one of my youngest, but how on earth do I hang them.  I was thinking about applying the sheets to MDF and hanging.  Is there a better way?  Maybe something a bit thinner?

PS:  I guess I should have put this under "interior decor" questions.  Fell free to bump me over there Smiley
