6  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Skeleton key on: February 06, 2012 02:11:07 PM
I saw a key embellished with a polymer clay cat from www.kasa-amend.com and was inspired to create this skeleton key! I had hoped it would turn out Tim burton-esque; whilst I'm not sure I managed that I think it looks cute nonetheless! Made with white fimo and a sharpie pen.

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Coffee Filter Rose bouquet on: May 27, 2010 04:34:57 AM
Wow thanks for all the lovely comments - I'm so relieved you like them! I like the idea of the beaded baby's breath, might have to experiment this weekend (although I think my boyfriend is getting a bit sick of the house looking like a florists!)
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Coffee Filter Rose bouquet on: May 26, 2010 08:37:28 AM
I'm getting married on a tight budget in July and after seeing the coffee filter roses on Mommymakesroses.com decided to give it a go myself. I got a little bit obsessed with making these roses and have LOADS of them in the house now!

I've made 6 pomanders for the church...

But what I'm really stuck with is the bouquets as I wanted to keep it relatively plain so as not to distract from my fabulous dress (that my mum is making for me!) but thought I needed to break up the colour rather than having just roses. I bought some artificial hydrangeas and some leaves (all fake leaves seem to be quite plastic-y so haven't used too many I hope). So, I need your honest comments/feedback please! Does it need anything more? (I'm planning to wrap the stem with ribbon but otherwise not sure what else to add!)

9  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Easter Bunnies on: March 04, 2010 11:45:40 AM
I must admit I've gotten a little tired of seeing those fluffy yellow chicks from the pound shop with cadbury's mini eggs decorating every single cake at Easter time. So I made these cute little bunnies to put on top of my cupcakes instead...

10  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Making polymer clay foodsafe? on: December 04, 2009 06:39:10 AM
I've been inspired by Wanda Shum's teapots to have a go at making one myself; I'm not sure whether hers are actually functional but I'd definately like to show mine off and use it but am worried about the toxicity (is that even a word?!) of the clay. Does anyone know of any products (perhaps a glaze or something) that would make it foodsafe?
