That's awesome for your first attempt at fondant! Truly! I love working with fondant, never thought I would until my SIL got me into it. Before that, I was really intimidated with it and stuck with only buttercream decorating.
Anyway, I noticed that you said you used the Wilton ready-made fondant. Word to the wise, definitely try making your own. Taste wise, the homemade is probably 100 times better. Seriously.
I've done a glycerin-type fondant recipe as well as a marshmallow fondant recipe and they both have turned out really well! If you want the recipe(s) I'd be happy to share them!
Again, GREAT job on the cake! My first fondant cake was a disaster! *giggles*
