1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / quick question about pattern on: January 07, 2009 10:44:24 AM
Hi, again, I have a question about a pattern. It's a rug pattern. And it says "With 2 strands together chain 55"
This is probably very self explanatory... ::)and I feel kinda silly asking but I just want to double check to make sure I understand properly. I take two strands of the yarn and crochet the rug with 2 instead of 1 single strand, right?
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / need help with sock pattern on: January 07, 2009 10:41:48 AM
I am trying to  crochet my first pair of socks. And now I'm stuck. The pattern says: Mark beg of rnd with a colored piece of yarn. Work even in sc until 7" from beg.
Does it mean to do enough single crochet rounds that it will be 7" long and then move on to the next set of instructions? Or, do I only do a few single crochets on that round and stop when there is 7" between where ever that is and the beginning of that same round? (does that make sense?) Huh I really hope someone can help me out, please.
I've never made a sock before, and these looked really nice and cozy. It's Lion Brand Wool Ease thick and quick cottage socks pattern. I hope I'm not too far in over my head here. I've been crocheting basic single and double and shell blankets for a while and want to move on to different things.
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / looking for a pattern, round pin wheel maybe? on: January 05, 2009 07:06:21 PM
Hi. I remember my aunt had made this really cool blanket a looong time ago, she called it a pinwheel. I always have wanted to make one since. But, I always forgot to ask her for the pattern, and she passed away this summer, so I can't ask her anymore. Does anyone know what I mean? I've tried searching the internet but haven't been able to come up with anything close. I keep getting patterns for blankets that are made in little circles or squares and pieced together, but this one I'm talking about is one piece.
Can anyone help?? I hope so!
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / anyone have this craft drill? Walnut Hollow on: December 16, 2008 03:46:50 PM
Hello all! I am thinking about buying this: http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat3266&PRODID=prd53228
It's a Walnut Hollow Designed For Her Creative Drill. It's pretty affordable, and I would really like to get a drill so I can make my resin thingies into beads and stuff.
Does anyone have this? If so, would you recommend it or not? Thanks!
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / My first attempt at resin on: November 22, 2008 01:48:02 PM
Here they are. I think they're ok, not bad, but not quite as I hoped. But, it was my first try.
The backs are a bit sticky, is that normal or do I need to do something to take the stickiness away?

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / what are these beads? resin? on: September 27, 2008 01:55:28 PM
Hi, I have a question, and I hope it will make sense! I've seen these beads, or pendants that people have made, they have a picture in them, or other things, and it's clear. Is this resin? And how do they do it? Are there starter kits out there? I would really love to make some of these for necklaces.
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / My first earrings! on: September 19, 2008 10:44:36 PM
Hi! These are my first earrings that I've made. I made them earlier in the week.
Sorry for the not so great picture...but, you can still see them decently.
8  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hi, I'm new to Craftster on: September 17, 2008 09:32:11 AM
Hello all, I am new here. I was searching around on google for some crafting forums, and am happy to have found this one!
I'm a stay at home mom and I am just getting into jewelry making, and have made a couple pairs of earrings already. I tried seed beading earlier in the year, but...well....that didn't work out...
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / new to beads on: September 16, 2008 11:50:25 AM
Hi everyone. I am new here to the forums, and also am new to beads and making jewelry. I have been wanting to get into it for a while now, and since my oldest daughter started preschool I needed something to do while my baby naps.
I bought a set of different pliers and cutters, a few different beads, headpins, and earring wires.
I made 2 pairs so far. But I have a hard time with making those loops with the headpins. I hope I'll get the hang of it soon! I really liked making the earrings. I will put pictures up soon once I get my camera charged!
I hope to get some tips here and advice! I've been reading through some of the posts, and there's lots of information!
