51  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Gnome Sweet Gnome on: November 23, 2010 04:40:00 PM
Well I guess this fits here!  My second little fairy tale dwelling for the tiny fairy tale house swap.  My partner received today so its safe to post!  Wink  I guess it goes without further explaination - this is a little gnome house.  It was inspired by a combination of Judy McCullough's much larger fairy houses and Mimi Kirchner's tiny worlds (they are wonderful)-but its my own pattern. Fabric, felted sweater and embroidery.  The little gnomes are sculpy.  Smiley  I don't usually do anything this small but I have to say, it was a great challenge and I really enjoyed making them!  Cheesy

52  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Tiny Little Fairy Home on: November 22, 2010 08:02:50 PM
I did this for the tiny Fairytale House swap.  It's needle felted with some embroidery and tiny sculpy fairies.  There's another tiny house (hopefully not lost) still traveling to Canada - I had a blast making both of them!!  Smiley

53  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Gnome on a stick! on: November 09, 2010 06:44:58 PM
This little guy and his trusty toadstool are a couple of other creations from the Christmas stocking swap.  Also based on my awesome partner's wist, they are tiny little guardians to stick in a plant pot.  Smiley
54  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / SWEEEEET! Sugar Skull Pin Cushion on: November 08, 2010 06:51:23 PM
Hi all - I did this as a part of a super fun stocking swap - based on a pin cushion from my partner's wist - I molded the clay around a foam skull leaving a hole for the actual pin cushion. Painting it was the fun part - and a special nod to the coolest website on the net!!!   Wink

55  COOKING / Dessert / Eiffel Tower Cookies? Oui! Oui! on: October 26, 2010 07:12:25 AM
I made these to be sold at a little french crepery in town.  A lot of work though - not sure I feel like it will pay off when all is said and done.  I think they're pretty cool though!  Wink

56  COOKING / Dessert / Hot Fudge Sundae Cake on: October 17, 2010 01:20:43 PM
-although on her blog she calls it hot fudge SUNDAY cake www.thecupcakeninja.blogspot.com   (....hmmmm...) Hilarious blog by the way!  anyway - completely easy AND delicious - and consumed within seconds.  In fact, I cleared the kitchen so I could take a picture before the huungry animals decended and realized my camera was dead - grrrr - so I stole a pic from the blog - mine came out exactly like the picture! (No stolen pictures - read below - haha) I'm not sure if this would be quite as delicious cold - but I never got a chance to find out - served it with icecream, and I used chopped walnuts too - yummmmmmmm!

HAHA!  I managed to talk my mom into making some at her house today - so together we threw another one together and had plenty of time to take pics with a fully charged camera - LOL
Here we go - with and without icecream!  Wink

57  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Journal cover on: September 27, 2010 10:58:27 PM
I posted this in the Teesha Moore stitch along thread.  This is my third journal cover - I've liked each one better than the one before!  This one will be flying to Florida to live with my sister.  Smiley  These are a lot of fun - I love the crazyness of them and I'm always picking up a little charm here or a card of buttons there with the thought that they'd be perfect for this kind of project. (Why else would someone buy a string of eight squirrel charms??  LOL)  Hope you like!
Here's the front...

and the back..... (the spine has antiquey bells and buttons running down the length.)

Thanks for looking!  Smiley
58  COOKING / Dessert / Hello My Delicious Cupcake! on: September 26, 2010 09:20:07 AM
I got this recipe off a pretty hilarious blog called The Cupcake Ninja.  http://thecupcakeninja.blogspot.com/  Nothing like the smell of pumpkin spice on a fall morning (even though its supposed to be 90 degrees today - ugh!)
Really delicious and they look pretty awesome too!  (If I do say so myself - haha!)  They are supposed to be for a dinner we are going to tonight, but of course I had to try a couple to make sure they were okay! Cheesy

59  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Wine Cork Bath Mat! on: July 19, 2010 10:03:55 AM
Here's a bath mat I did for the FOC Swap.  I'm not much of a drinker so I ordered wine corks online (proceeds went to a wildlife refuge) and sliced away! (All the corks are cut in half.)  I used this tutorial http://www.craftynest.com/2010/03/wine-cork-bath-mat/ but used a utility knife to cut and used silicone glue.  I'm not sure if this was a better choice than the hot glue in the tut - but it made more sense to me.  So here ya go - the fabulous wine cork bath mat! Cheesy

60  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / I'm in love with Mail Sacks! on: July 18, 2010 09:22:22 AM
I've made a few of these and really love how they turn out...perhaps it has something to do with my addiction to big roomy bags that I can put tons of stuff into - I made this one for the FOC swap and I was LOVING the fabric - maybe my favorite so far. Here is my daughter modeling for me.  Wink

and some close ups - pockets on the inside - ones a double & one's a zipper

I might have to go get some more of this fabric and make one for myself!  LOL!
